Quiet campground. Great sites
Great place to take the family friendly staff!
I love all of the small things to do at the grounds! The place is beautiful I would camp there forever if I would. The only issue I had is only being able to get internet on the front porch at the office, along with campers to rent that weren't the cleanest.
I don't recommend this place to anyone. The male owner of the place is rude and has anger issues. He will treat anyone of any age even elder to him like a child and disrespect. Come your last day of your stay the The male owner will come to your campsite raging about the things "he got complaints about" and tell you to leave right away. But when someone comes while your still packing and says it's their site? Isn't that ironic? Renting our site before the check out time is wrong. Meanwhile as we're leaving another elder couple apologizing for the "things they have done to offend them". Which I'm sure was NOTHING. Save your money and go somewhere with a good time to relax.
Had a wonderful time, so relaxing and alot of things for the children to do. We had 11 with us. Tubing on the river was so peaceful, couldn't keep the kids out.
Micro management is intrusive! Accusations and extra charges that do not exist!! Horrible experience!!!! Zero stars if it were available!!! Watch your wallet and credit card charges!!! Also animals at barn are in need of serious care with minis hoofs so overgrown it is difficult for him to walk and a goat with it's halter almost grown into it's face!!! Hopefully humane society will soon be checking on these poor animals!!!!
A great little place to go camping in the white mountains. It's fairly close to anything you could want to do, has great prices, and is full of plenty to do. The camping area includes a lake, a recreation building, shuffleboard, mini-golf, and pool tables. If you're there on the weekend, they even have great events such as an ice cream social or a dance. And for those kids who just can't get away from the internet, there is free WiFi in the recreation building.
This is our 4th summer camping here. We usually stay more than once a year. It's a great campground with sites right on the Swift River. It's perfect for families with small children because the river is shallow and the current isn't too strong. It's just as perfect for older children because they can walk down to the beach or the pedestrian/dog outlet and tube right to their site!
My children (boy13 & girl 11) love coming here. The enjoy feeding the animals everyday, swimming/rafting in the river & fishing.
Tamworth is in a good central location to see many of the NH attractions.
There are themed weekend & a couple activities on Saturdays, but if your looking for a quiet, peaceful & relaxing trip~ Tamworth's just the place!
Tamworth Camping Area is a wonderful camping area, with hot showers, laundry facilities, and hot coffee in the morning. We had a group of 11-12 people, all on motorcycles that wanted to camp together, and they had no problem accommodating us. This place is like camping on a farm, they had baby chicks, sheep, and a few other animals. We loved waking up in the morning to roosters, what a treat!
They also have plenty of information on the attractions of the White Mountain area, and even checked the weather atop Mt. Washington for us, as we mentioned that was one of our destinations. The prices were the best in the area, and the campground is very well secured. We even got treated with a country-rock band, before we bedded-down for the night, with a "quite-time" that was very reasonable. We defiantly will camp here again, maybe next time we might camp in one of their many cabins
