TAMAM (Triangle Association of American Muslim Mothers) is a 501(c(3) non-profit community service organization. Projects include feeding the homeless, school supplies drives for Title I schools, settling refugees, toy drives, raising awareness and funds for medical conditions. TAMAM arose as a way to organize and mobilize women in a collaborative effort.
We had a great time serving Easter Sunday meal at the new OCCC center! It's a beautiful, well equipped facility and it was really nice that a Muslim organization fed over 150 people an Easter meal! We welcomed new friends Fonda, Keyona, Sophia and Sana and were happy to see our always supportive friends Tehmina, Farrah, and everyone who always comes through with delivering food like Mariam Elbeck, Daniah, Mahroo, Noureen, Afaf, Niveen, and Shams. God bless you for your efforts!
We are so excited to share the great news with you that RTI has awarded TAMAM a Community Partnership contribution for the second year in a row alhumdulillah! The amount is $3250!
The executive board of TAMAM will ultimately decide what cause to use this grant for, but we would love your thoughtful ideas on how the money should be used to help our community!
The TAMAM Kids Committee was proud to serve TABLE in Chapel Hill, NC today. TABLE serves students on subsidized meal plans during school days who have Iimited access to food on non-school days. Our volunteers helped prepare packaged food baskets for delivery to these students. Thank you to TABLE for hosting TAMAM and allowing us to serve the community!
On Sunday, in conjunction with ICNA Relief, Islamic Assoc of Raleigh, Islamic Center of Morrisville, North Raleigh Masjid, and Jamaat Ibad arRahman, TAMAM delivered lunch and Target gift cards to the TSA employees at RDU airport. You can be proud that TAMAM raised $715 for this cause and that $700 of it was used to purchase 35 Target gift cards of $20 each. TAMAM volunteers picked up 50 cheese pizzas and 320 chicken wings from Dominos and delivered them to the break room. We set up, served, distributed gift cards, and met with many employees. It was wonderful to meet them and show them who their Muslim neighbors are. Though they were very thankful, we reminded them that we are so thankful for all they do.
Much love and respect to all those who donated and volunteered for this cause.
