The name Sylvania "Wilderness" is very misleading. This is just another over-developed, over-used and very, very over-priced campground. If you are seeking "wilderness," look elsewhere. Here you will find paved roads, paved RV campsites, showers, bathrooms etc. Also, the campground host began harassing me about payment within minutes of arriving as he patrols the grounds regularly on a very loud moped.

Great canoeing, camping and bass fishing! This place is like a 'mini' boundary waters in the U.P.!

Taken several trips to this area. Beautiful paddling on crystal clear water. Just a terrific northwoods experience.

My softball team all went camping on the island and had a exsperience late.at night. Something right next to our campsite killed a deer I heard it shreek 10 feet from our site and left only the leg of the deer. I don't think I ever slept that night lol

It's an absolutely beautiful place to go bird watching, canoeing or kayaking and camping.
