Small animal hospital. When I took my dog, we were the only patients so it was very personable. The vet answered all of my questions and everyone knew how to handle my dog when he got nervous. I would come back again! (Also, parking is great! No need to show up 20 minutes early to find parking)
I really appreciate the time and love that the staff show my pets and me as well, they really take their time to find out what’s really going on with your pet and to explain every detail to you so that when you have to make a decision it’s always the right one and you won’t be sorry . They love your pets just as much as you do and the owner she’s spectacular She actually works on site with your pets and the prices are very , very reasonable, you couldn’t ever go wrong by taking your pets to Swann Harbor Animal Hospital. Thumbs Up Swann Harbor Way To Go Well Done !!!💕💕😄😄
We cannot say enough good things about this animal hospital! Our dog was attacked and needed to be seen for wounds on his ear. Swan Harbor was very understanding saw him immediately even though we were not a current patient. The staff was incredible. It's obvious they love what they do and give the best care for your pet. They take the time to explain every thing and are very calming even though we were high stress. They worked with us to figure out the best treatment plan which was affordable considering the situation. They also called to check on us the next day!
Absolutely amazing here!! My poor cat was tearing her ears open and the vet had it diagnosed and taken care of within a matter of minutes it seemed! Her ears are all better now and this has become the place I bring all 3 of my furbabies to now! They even have one here named Luvin who greets all his guests, human, dog or cat haha I can't say enough about this amazing team! Thank you Christina, Dr. Cohen and Luvin for making my family feel welcomed into yours!!
The staff is AMAZING!! was here with Lap of Love veterinary hospice to say hi! #sweetlove
I've been boarding my dog here for years when I go on vacation and she absolutely loves it. She loves all the workers and staff and playing with all the other dogs. She always comes back completely tired.
I am writing this review to not only help fellow animal owners but also publicly speak of the wrong doing by this veterinary office . Over the past 2 months I have been dealing with multiple complications post having my 8 month old puppy neutered at Swan Harbor Hospital. First of all, the office hired a new doctor without informing any of their clients, the day of my dog's surgery was the first time meeting the new Vet. The second meeting went just as bad as the doctor had no clue who my dog was and stated "I don't recall taking care of this dog", she also could not remember if my dog was a male or a female. A week later I brought my dog back due to a large boil that started to form and the new doctor proceeded to tell me this was NORMAL and the incision site appeared healthy and did not want to prescribe any antibiotics -- she believed my dog just needed pain medication. After a few days and the site not looking any better, I tried to call and make an appointment on Saturday (a normal work day for the office) and I was told the doctor was out of the office that weekend and wouldn't be able to see my dog till the following Tuesday. With the doctor not available or unwilling to check on my dog, and the site starting to appear worse, I took my dog for a second opinion. I went to another Vet, my dog had to go through additional treatment, and a second surgery. In short, Swan Harbor Hospital cost me over $1,000 to correct the initial neutering done at Swan Harbor Hospital. PLEASE RETHINK BEFORE TAKING YOUR ANIMAL HERE.
I can't say enough good things about Dr Bishop and the team at Swan Harbor. Our 6 year old Tabby cat was sick over Memorial Day weekend and they were unfortunately closed, but when we called Tuesday they had us bring our sick little guy in right away. Dr Bishop listened to everything we had to say so closely and treated every symptom we were describing, not just the fever, and was so gentle and loving. By later that day our little guy was already doing way better. The course of treatment seemed like a little much at first, but today, 2 days later, he's nearly back to normal thanks to Dr Bishop and the team at Swan Harbor. The course of treatment was perfect and they managed not just our cat's health but also our anxiety so amazingly well. Highly recommend them.
This review relates to Dr. Bishop and the support staff (Christina). They are amazing. I could tell you that they have same-day appointments, and are connected to Downtown Dog Resort- and all this would be legit reasons for why I like them. BUT, really, what gets me is the time they take to go over the medical history of my pets, ask questions, and really listen to my concerns. I never feel rushed, I always feel like I leave with all my questions answered. Another thing Dr. Bishop does that is awesome- he tells you what to expect. Often, vets can't give you an answer on what is wrong with your pet right away. It's a common frustration. Dr. Bishop has this habit of outlining possible courses. So- he'll tell you on the first visit- "A" may be a problem, so first step is "x" if we get "y" result, we'll look at doing 1, 2, 3 but if we get "z" result, we will look at doing 4, 5, 6. This might be what every vet does in their head, but the fact that he takes the owner along for the journey, and let's us know where we are in the process- incredibly helpful!
After recently moving to the area, I brought my 5 year old 75 lb rescue to Dr. Bishop today for his annual exam. My dog has a lot of anxiety being in strange places with strange people, and has an embarrassing tendency to pant, shed, and run away/bark at the veterinarian, despite multiple attempts at desensitization and making the vet a positive experience. Today was no different, with my dog barking at poor Dr. Bishop and trying to hide under my chair. Dr. Bishop was very gentle in approaching my dog, took him for a walk around the office, and fed him treats until my dog was comfortable enough to let Dr. Bishop give him his vaccines and do a quick exam. Dr. Bishop was incredibly patient and kind, and never made me feel like a bad owner for having an uncooperative dog. He was very interested in my dog's health and gave good anticipatory guidance. Overall, a great experience with a nervous dog, and I would recommend Dr. Bishop and his staff to anyone.
Horrible. Dog went in for a neuter and was left to thrash in his cage, which ruptured his sutures and caused him to bleed internally. Instead of fixing him, he was sent home with rimadyl, which worsens (I'm learning) the internal bleeding. Tried calling them the next morning, they said to put ice on it. Tried calling later in the day, they stopped answering their phones. The dog had to get an $800 emergency surgery to stop the bleeding.
