  Nice home improvement store and great workers. The employees are easy to find when you something. I spent about an hour there and didn't have everyone asking me if I need help. It's not their fault but I find that really annoying. What I liked most about this store was that they had complete items for products. I.e. Everything for bee keeping, LEM brand meat processing equipment, lots of yetti stuff (I didn't know they made 5 gal buckets).

  I do contract work all over the area and I dread having to do work in Nevada Mo simply because Sutherlands is the only choice I have for last minute or as needed supplies. Here's a hardware/home improvement store that carries cheese, pickles, dog food, and cookies yet they've stopped stocking irrigation supplies? I've been in that store a handful of times to get items that most every other hardware store regularly carries and usually leave disappointed.
  
  If you need bacon-ranch cheese curds, stop on by. If your sprinkler system springs a leak, drive to Joplin.

  I got Sutherlands several times a day for a variety of items for work. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The check out staff is the best around.

  I have never had much use for Sutherlands in the past. Today I visited the store in Nevada, Missouri. I was very impressed. Nice people, well stocked store, better than Home Depot in fact. This is the biggest Sutherlands I have every visited. I have a new favorite place to shop.

  This store has a wide array of materials you won't find elsewhere around Nevada, MO. The prices are competitive, too. But, you have to do your homework on what you need before you enter the store. It is very much a self-serve philosophy inside. If you know what you need and are able to haul it yourself, you can quickly get in and get out.

  Good selection. They don't carry any 7/8 bolts or nuts. Was a little disappointed at that but pretty good otherwise.

  I've done a lot of shopping here because I have a couple rentals here in town. I asked if they had the thicker size fire brick I was looking for 2 1/2" thick they had a box of 1 1/4", he replied he had never seen anything thicker than what they had on the floor. I said I had seen bigger sizes on the Internet he immediately said "use the internet then". I work in retail also and I would never say something like that to a customer even if there was no profit in it for me. It's just something you don't do. I said I wanted to shop local. He wasn't even willing to look so I walked out not happy with this place!

  As a local business owner and avid DIY'er I shop this store frequently and have found them to be efficient and helpful. I would mark other reviews as sour grapes. Seriously, you drive 50 miles to Nevada for supplies? If you want an appliance salesman, go to the appliance store there (three good ones in town). If you've done your research and just want to cash and carry a good deal like I did last week, here's your store. Finally, coupons are locally issued. Not all Sutherlands are owned by the same people so, of course, they cannot honor other's coupons or credit cards.
