Pretty disappointed in the service offered here. It's a fairly dubious error for a boot shop to confuse the left from the right (they worked on the wrong boot). When trying to get this mistake corrected not only was I asked to pay again, but they quoted me $50 when the day before I had paid only $30 for the same service. I questioned their pricing and explained that I didn't expect to pay again when they were the ones who had mixed up the boots. In the end they agreed to not charge me, but only after a rather involved argument. On top of that their persistence in up-selling their insoles really confirmed my feeling that I went to the wrong place to get my boots adjusted.
With age comes changing feet. It was no surprise that my old Surefoot boots, which previously fit to perfection, no longer were serviceable. The changed structure to my feet, presented a challenge. The store manager, Jason, would take scan after scan until he was satisfied that the image was satisfactory to build the orthotic. Once the boot is ready, there is always follow up tweaks. You are never made to feel like you are bothering them and that it is their pleasure to help you. Perhaps this says the most about the owners and the philosophy which they imbue in the staff. And, in the unlikely event that the staff is stumped, the owner Russ Shay, will step in to lend his expertise. Needless to say, if you need a custom boot to provide you comfort and help you ski, this is the place to go.
I'm spending my time writing this review because I am very impressed with this shop.
Can you imagine having a store where all the misfits like me with crooked feet go because they have tried other boots and found they hurt so much they wanted to give up skiing? That's my story and from what I observed in the shop, it's the story of many of their customers.
You walk into this place and you receive a good vibe from the start. They introduce themselves, ask your name and then use your name throughout the visit. After they scan your foot and create a custom orthotic,, they expertly fit you with a a boot and liner that adjusts to your imperfections--they may even create a custom foam boot liner that contours to your foot. And after you ski, if something isn't right, come back in and they will tweak it for you. I observed members of local and international ski teams being fitted for boots here and after working with them on my own boots, I understand why. These people stand behind their product and do their best to help you tweak a hard piece of plastic to make it comfortable. It doesn't matter who assists you, they are all very knowledgeable and do their best to help.
Surefoot has been doing my boots for many years. New set of foamed liners! Fantastic. Thanks Surefoot.
I went to Surefoot in Vail,CO as I had an old pair of ski orthotics made before 2 knee replacements last ski season. I thought I would need new orthotics because my knees had been cantered inward due to their arthritic condition. Surefoot spent time evaluating my feet and my old orthotics, told me that my old orthotics were still well fitting and there was no need for new orthotics. Had they said I needed new ones I would have purchased them. I commend Surefoot for their time and honesty. I will return to their store for any boot fitting in the future and highly recommend them to others.
Went in for the sale. Left with amazing boots that fit perfectly!
These folks were amazing. My right foot was killing me I could not have skied another run without there help. I was back on the slopes in 15 minutes the customer service was incredible. If your having trouble with you boots these are the folks for you
Mauricio is THE MAN. So helpful, knows his stuff, and willing to get it right, no matter how long it takes. Can’t say enough about this place. If you need boot work done in Vail, you need to go here. 😎🤘🏼❄️⛷
I ski 70-100 days per year and have tried many different custom fitted ski boots. Surefoot is very unique and by far the best fitting, best performing, and most comfortable I've ever experienced. I have the foam injected custom boot liners and the custom foot beds. My boots are formed exactly around the shape of my ankles and feet. I originally went to Surefoot because I had broken my left ankle and my right tib/fib and have a few bones that stick out now. My boots are more comfortable than any boots I've ever had even prior to my injuries. Also, the performance I get from the custom liners is outstanding. My skis are much more responsive without the unnecessary slop or wiggle room inside my boots. I wish I had sought them out much sooner. I couldn't be happier!
Top of the line Orthotic technology with a helpful and friendly staff. Eric gave me hours of his time to allow me to try on several different sizes and brands of boots before we found the perfect fit. Great boots make all the difference and I would highly recommend finding your next pair at Surefoot.
Very PRO. Overpriced.
Eric totally helped me out & got me into a boot specifically designed for my high arch/instep combine that with the surefoot insert & I couldn't be happier Thank you thank you thank you (finally i can ski without pain)
I'll be donating my old boots to terrorist interrogators
First new boots in a number of years. Excellent, knowledgeable staff. Have already recommended Surefoot experience to several others.
I came to Vail in the beginning of June on vacation, much to my chagrin, sure foot was closed. Fortunately, they left an email address, and within a day I got a phone call from the Beaver Creek manager, Spencer, who graciously agreed to come down to open up just for me. I had a great experience and I cannot wait to hit the slopes this winter! Thank you Spencer for the excellent customer service.
Surefoot corporate needs to look at their Vail store. Are they understaffed? Poor management? My experience in the NYC and Park City stores has been completely different. If this is all I knew of Surefoot I would never come back.
