It's National Hobby Month! What is your favorite hobby? We're hoping it has something to do with thread. 😅

This Sunday, January 13th, is National "Make Your Dreams Come True" Day. It's a great time to reflect on dreams already achieved, which reminds us of this beautiful award-winning quilt titled "Is She Ready Yet?" by @Heidi Proffetty. What dreams do you want to come true? What dreams have you already achieved?

Our good friend and Superior Star, Caryl Bryer Fallert, created this award-winning quilt, Lepidopteran #5, using a small, saved photo of a green moth as inspiration. The patterns and colors were abstractly designed and came together with Superior Threads Magnifico. We couldn't be more impressed with the result! #superiorthreads #magnifico #superiorstar

A fine, even thread starts with a good twist. Our So Fine! thread has over 1,000 twists per meter. Why is that important? Watch this video from Dr. Bob to find out.

Mister Domestic created this awesome design using MicroQuilter. In his words: the thread is "super strong and creates the most amazing texture." We think so too!

These beautifully-handcrafted Christmas ornaments were made by our creative friend, Linda Gosselin. She used Razzle Dazzle thread in a circular sock machine to create a timeless decoration and gift. We couldn't be more impressed with the result!

We consider Karen Eckmeier not only an amazing quilter, but also a great friend. We were so excited when she won 2nd place at Quilt Festival in the Pieced, Small category for this 42x57 quilt utilizing Superior Threads! She gave us a little background information on this stunning design:

Turning Over a New Leaf evolved over several years. I had made well over one hundred topstitched Rose Twirls with a Kaffe Fassett milefiori in the center and arranged them on my design wall,... only to realize it was not as strong a design as I wanted it to be. So I set the blocks aside for a year until I decided to add my Layered Leaves to them in a totally different design. When I started to sew it together, let’s just say I miscalculated and needed to cut down my leaves to a smaller size. Hence the name of the quilt refers to the fact that I was truly turning over a “new” leaf AND it was also February of 2018 so I was symbolically turning over that new leaf going into the New Year!

Congratulations on this beautiful quilt Karen!
