This place is very cool. The art on the wall is targeted towards the younger crowd. I would consider this place trendy and hip, cool place for the younger crowd to hang out. I don’t come to Grand Rapids often but I would definitely suggest this place. I’m sure it will be busy at nights, we were here for lunch. There are a few old school arcade games like Miss Pac-Man and Ninja Turtles. The food was fast and good. We started with the onion rings. Then I got the road runner - grilled cheese. I wasn’t ready for the spice but after eating half of it I got use to it. Overall loved the chill music and vibe here.

I never go downtown. I always say theirs to many people and not enough cattle. I raise cattle and this place knows how to make a person love eating beef. It says best burgers in America for a reason. They are the best I've ever had. Their crack fries are also great. This was my first visit but I will definitely be driving the 45 minutes from the sticks to GR for more of their burgers.

I have always had a great time at Stella's. I decided to risk bringing my child there for dinner as I know he likes games. It was nice to know that during the day they are really child friendly (I usually only go at night).
They put the people with kids in the VIP area so that's nice. It keeps us out of the way of the regular bar crowd and makes it so our kids don't bug anyone.
The servers were as friendly as can be. Even saw me making paper frogs for my kid and they brought me a paper crane. That kinda made my night.

On another note a previous example as how they always take care of their patrons. I used to be the designated driver. I would sit there and drink soda and one bartender wouldn't charge me for my soda. To me it felt like they were promoting the safety of their customers by treating the drivers well.

Negative:
Make no mistake. This is not Stella's "Lounge." This is Stella's "Edgy Hipster College Bar." The name does not communicate the actual atmosphere of this bar. Food is overpriced and mediocre. Extremely loud. Attending for something like slam poetry or trivia nights is an exercise in frustration, as the base level of noise in Stella's makes it very hard to fully engage with performers or games, even in the side room they have these small events in. If things like slam poetry weren't free, I'd never pay a cent to go again.
Positive:
Arcade games in the bar, trivia and slam poetry nights, and a gigantic selection of whiskeys. A good rotation of specials and cocktails, including seasonal choices. A few excellent drink, hand made in house. I strongly recommend the whiskey sour.response / report this review -

Really great food and every drink you could ever think of! Ask for Rueben in the back bar. He makes fantastic drinks especially the old fashioned.

Great atmosphere with awesome decor.
Their burger meat could use some seasoning.
Portions are great size (seriously, I couldn't finish my meal).
Fries are pretty good.
I wouldn't recommend the Mayan Mocha Stout: smells better than it tastes, quite bitter for a stout, and an almost gasoline/cigarette butt after-taste.response / report this review -

Good food, rather dismal service.
Been to Stella's several times but I am writing this in response to my visit earlier today. I arrived around 1:00 p.m. and sat at the bar as I just wanted to grab a quick bite. The restaurant was somewhat busy as I arrived but within 10 minutes of being seated the restaurant cleared out to about 1/3 capacity. The bar was not busy but it still took a fair amount of time before I was acknowledged and given a menu. I promptly ordered my food The Big Ballah burger and waited And waited And waited. Meanwhile, I overheard a couple sitting next to me asking several times on the status of their order. Rather disconcerted, I ended up waiting 45 minutes all while the restaurant was not busy by any means. I would have walked out if the bartender hadn't taken my card for my "tab" even though I had only been drinking water. When I did finally get my food, it was good but still not worth the wait.response / report this review -

Interesting atmosphere. Excellent food. They have an amazing drink menu.
My server, Claire, was attentive and nice. Food came out in a timely fashion. The burger was delicious, something like- "Hot Debbie Gibson"? Like I said, it's interesting here. Tons of neat art on the wall to look at, lots of arcade and pinball games, retro programming on the TV's Great combination of tasty food & drink coupled with old school entertainment. My only complaint would be that my table felt sticky, perhaps it's the humidity or just a fluke.response / report this review -

Stella's has the BEST burgers! I like mine rare and they delivered. The only problem is, it is so big I couldn't get it in my mouth, I managed though. They have a great beer selection, alot of local choices. Stella's is a fun place to go.

My first visit in April 2017. This place is legendary and very hip. It's legendary because the Burgers are very very good. I've only had a better burger once elsewhere, but that was at a location I'll leave unnamed in this review. PBR, pin ball machines, 80s music, and great food make this a must-stop-to start off a night on the town.

Totally retro 80s type bar with video games and even cool 80s cartoons playing. Some of the best burgers and food you can get anywhere. Probably the best vegetarian and vegan options as well. Awesome drinks (I had a good flight of 3 glasses of bourbon last night), beers and of course Stella's Punch. Wait staff are awesome all the time. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Stella's is the best. Hands down. I suggest it to everyone who comes to the city and asks where to go. If you like Whiskey, their menu is extensive. They have vegetarian and vegan friendly food which is as good as meat. For families, it's a great place in the day time with an appropriate atmosphere. This is my favorite place but I wish they had more seating.

The burgers at Stella's are phenomenal. The meat is amazing, and the styles of burger available are unique which makes for a great experience. The service is always great, everyone is so friendly and ready to answer any questions you might have. And of course the old school arcade games they have are tons of fun and a nice way to pass any table-wait time you might have. One thing to know about, though, is that it is a pretty small and crowded place. I've never had to wait long, but just the design of the restaurant doesn't give much room between people. It doesn't take from the experience, just something good to know if you're not a fan of close quarters.
