Sometimes a recipe demands a restaurant.
2PM on a Tuesday
In late 2014 our owners visited two Philadelphia Cheesesteak Houses while visiting. (Food connoisseurs have to check out the world renowned sub shops when in Philly!) It was 2PM on a Tuesday, and two lines were found, one line waiting to be served at Gino’s, and the other at Pat’s. Let me repeat, the popularity demanded a line at 2pm, on a Tuesday!
These two restaurants coexist next to each other and serve competing Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches. Our to be restaurnnteers waited in both lines and sampled both and a concept was born.
To build the best Cheesesteaks in Kent, or anywhere.
Returning to Kent, a quest was begun to replicate the taste on their tastebuds from that now glorious Tuesday afternoon. Scientifically testing with varying sauces, ratios, cooking, stirring times, and tryouts from a dozen local bakeries, the Steak-eez Cheesesteaks were born.
Rated by visitors as the best they’ve ever tasted, we hope to demand extra police on Kent’s Water Street to direct pedestrian traffic and lines every Tuesday afternoon.
