The creek is a nice feature and the woods are rather wood-like. Almost took off a star because the deer are all a little too good at hiding, but I suppose that's more feature than bug.

Huge State Game land. Rugged terrain, lots of boulders on these mountains. They like to put on deer drives during rifle season which can disrupt other hunters. While this could happen on any State Game land, I've encountered several times here other hunters not respecting the area I'm hunting in by walking right past me or through the area I'm hunting. Disappointing behavior, there is a lot of mountain for us to share.

Good place to camp at. Nice trails, but some were a challenge to hike. Appalachian trail runs right through it. Really nice scenery out in the woods.

Would be 5 stars if there was deer here. Game lands are going down hill as the shoot too many deer.

I was here mostly to hike to Boxcar Rocks, but the area overall is beautiful! Great place to hike, view scenery, and hunt.

Swatara park is an Awesome place to do single track mountain biking. Not too big. Lots of little interconnected loops. Well maintained. Maps are usually available. Everyone is very respectful to the rules for mountain biking etiquette. They also have an abandoned piece of highway for some smooth road riding.
