What a great time. We spent the entire day sampling foods and drinks while enjoying the sites and sounds. The fair grounds require a good bit of walking, but is laid out so that pedestrian traffic never has to cross vehicular traffic. Walk around and see all the food offerings before you decide. There are so many great choices. I'll be back next year!

Awesome! Going next year as well. It is simply a family tradition to go and enjoy wonderful food, rides, games! But shucks I missed the guy that uses a chainsaw to cut wood and make beautiful sculpturessad about that..I'll catch him next year!

There is a lot to do here! Tons of food, rides, shows, and cool exhibits. There are both indoor and outdoor areas so you can go inside to cool off or avoid rain. Everything is also surprisingly reasonably priced. Beers were about the same as at any restaurant.

Interesting for an all day affair. Prepare for crowds and lines for rides. The entertainment is the best part so keep a schedule and map close. Good for children and teens. Typical carnival vendors only available for food.

We love the State Fair. The crafts, animals, the ride and that great, greasy fair food. The young farmer's exhibit with all the young animals is our favorite, even now the children are almost grown. It would be nice if the state would invest in some infrastructure. It feels like a county fair. The shuttle from the parking lot is great--it's quite a hike in, even for the fit. Save your energy for walking around the exhibits!

The fair could be a great one but the owners stop the venders from coming so the fair is charging the people way to high. They have plenty of land this place could be a great fair to remember but they need more venders and shows.

Nice venue. The location is rural with a country feel to it. Holds lots of events each year including the VA State Fair. Fair is expensive but set up nicely. Great food too.

It's amazing! The food, festivities, animals, culture and rides are fantastic! Since they've moved to the new area, it's much more pleasant. I look forward to the state fair every year and my family and I always try to make it for my birthday each year. You're never too old for the fair!

Has become very commercial. Miss the state attractions is NASA and museums from long ago. Wish there was more animals and educational rxhibits

I would have given it 4 stars if they had more animals. In past years there have been many animals, which is why we go to the state Fair every year. This year, for unknown reasons, there was hardly any animals. They had the petting zoo, the birds, and we saw some horses. But usually there are barns full of sheep, goats, cows etc Not sure of there was a health issue this year? Either way it's sad when you're going there to look at and buy animals and they're not there!

Nice selection of stuff to look at. Great program to.see. we especially liked the pig race and the mad science program. Will definitely go again.
