Description

The Stark County Sheriff's Office provides services for the 7th largest county in Ohio. The department employs more than 200 sworn personnel. The Sheriff also provides court security to the Common Pleas Court and maintains the Stark County Jail.

Our website is http://www.sheriff.co.stark.oh.us/ You are able to submit anonymous tips and download an application for employment. We are currently hiring for all positions.

The phone number to the Sheriff's Office is 330-430-3800. This is good for most non emergency calls. If there is an emergency, you should close Facebook, and dial 911.

The jail and administrative offices are located at 4500 Atlantic Blvd NE in Canton Ohio. This is right on U.S. Route 62.

    ** Increased Traffic Enforcement **

    Sheriff George T. Maier announces that the Stark County Sheriff's Office will begin an enforcement period focusing on impaired drivers May 1, 2019 - May 31, 2019.

    These 40 additional enforcement hours are funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety's Traffic Safety Office.

    Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier announced the Stark County Sheriff's Office along with other members of the OVI Task Force will be conducting sobriety checkpoints Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Plain Township.

    Sheriff Maier advises that officers will conduct a roadside check of drivers for alcohol and drug impairment.

    We intend to inform the public that officers will be vigilant in detecting and apprehending impaired drivers. We want to strongly recommend to those who will be consuming alcohol to plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements.
