This winery was terrific!! Kate is absolutely the best employee here and the wine was pretty good too! Funny enough, we thought some of the wines were even better than the award acclaimed wines in Virginia.

Had a fabulous experience here. Kate is incredible if you can get her as a server, extremely knowledgeable and just all around a great person. Wine isn’t 5 stars but it’s great for the location and the experience. Would absolutely recommend when visiting.

Very nice selection of wines for every pallet. The first woman who we spoke to earlier that day was extremely nice and welcoming. However later that day, the man who served me and my two relatives I was with seemed to not like us or want to serve us. We literally just asked to do the sweet wine tasting that they offered, no special accommodations or any out of the ordinary requests. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. As soon as the tasting was over I saw him with another group and he was pleasant and cheerful to them. This is unfortunate because I really enjoyed the wine, however this experience made me not want to return.

Our visit to St. Michael’s marked the second visit to a Maryland state winery (Running Hare). Having recently toured through the Paso Robles region in California, we were interested to see what the East Coast had to offer. Running Hare’s wines were much sweeter and younger tasting than what we tasted out West (no surprise). There were only one or two that I really enjoyed. That said, the staff were very nice and the place was definitely busy on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Four stars for location and venue, three stars for the wine.
