Although I graduated here with honors the loans have made it so difficult for me to apply for another degree. It's not a good financial investment.

I transferred from here to Brooklyn College (CUNY) for my Sophomore year. What a mistake. Since last week I have now been dying to come back here and researching how I'm going to transfer back for Spring. If you're like me and been in private school or any small setting school your whole life, not only is this the perfect school for you- you will DEEPLY regret transferring because of the "excelsior" which is a complete fraud/lottery in itself.
After being in the 14th grade, I mean a CUNY, for 2 weeks- I can't even describe how much it'll make you appreciate and miss this place. Every room is air conditioned, it's clean, it's cozy, there's a strong sense of community despite the small size and the area is awesome. EVERY lecturer has their PHD and NO STUDENTS are teaching classes. They genuinely care about you, too. Their online programs to submit work is super easy (Unlike CUNY, where you have to use SIX different ones) and the professors answer almost immediately. Every professor I had the year I was there gave a thorough review for the midterm and final. They literally set you up to PASS.
Please take my word- if you went to a private school in BK, QUEENS, Staten Island, or wherever else- do come here, and definitely do NOT transfer out if you're already here.

I'm a freshmen here majoring in nursing.
So far, I like it. The classes are somewhere between easy-hard, and none of my classes have more than 20-25 people which is good if you're coming from a small private school like myself.
Excellent things- The kids who go here are really laid back and you can tell they actually wanna be there and aren't only there for the "party life and girls/boys of college". Getting used to the building took really quick, and the food they have there is awesome. This is good if you're like me and realize shake shack is totally not worth it. The campus feels like Manhattan once you leave, and the school is VERY diverse racially. Random people smile at you and want to be your friend.
2 complaints- I felt making the schedules for freshmen was super babyish and kinda high school. We could've at least sat with an advisor and done it before the first day. Not all of us are still living with mommy and daddy or can afford your multiple thousand dollar dorms, and have to work to support ourselves during the hours you gave us to make it "easier". I didn't have an issue till you weren't even allowed to change online! You had to go in person and do it and if you're a commuter this is hard because by the time you get there the spots are taken which was really aggravating. But regardless, I wound up having a schedule that fit my hours not interfering with work.
Another is both math professors I've had really seem to be incompetent kinda. We're in algebra still as college students clearly because we struggle with math. Having math professors who aren't clear REALLY don't help.response / report this review -

Awesome college. The professors are all usually very down to earth. You can tell that the staff there care about your future and want you to succeed. It really is a small college, but they give you MANY opportunities to do well and achieve anything you want
