  Their staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. They have taken time out to teach me about how to get a properly fitting helmet and bike (didnt try to upsell me, listened to my needs and got me the right bike.) Answered all my dumb noob biking questions without making me feel stupid. Got a great deal on a nice bike and they tune it up free. Great place to get a bike.

  Nice sporting goods store. A little bit disorganized inside. I found myself constantly tripping over clothing racks. Targeting the older sporting generation.

  Sports Basement in Walnut Creek is the area's best destination for selection and expertise when it comes to outdoor recreation.
  
  The people who work here know their stuff and you can expect to find what you need. Pricing is totally competitive but the real value is in the people.

  I've been to many Bicycle shops in the area, but Sports basement is a step above the rest in terms of customer service + selection + price.
  
  While I can fix most things on my bicycle, today while riding up Mt. Diablo, I had my shifter go out. They were pretty busy today with it being New Year's eve, but after hearing about my end year goal of a 50th Diablo, the Sports basement team did what it took to get me back on the road to complete my goal.
  
  This isn't the first story I've heard of how Sports basement has saved someone's sporting event, but it was the first for myself and I couldn't have been happier. Thank you guys!

  I love this place. The staff is SUPER knowledgable about both the bikes they sell and gear. The mechanics (shout out to BRIAN who was awesome) know their stuff inside and out.

  Tons of sports stuff here! Got some very nice hiking shoes for a steep discount (but they were the newer model of the shoe). They do price match via Amazon so saved a few bucks there. It's my #1 place to go for any sports related clothing, shoes, etc. Great prices, competitive and tons of selection.

  They got cool clothes, a little high priced but at least they have some fairly original stuff I don't normally see in other stores. Shoes are pretty expensive and I'm not a big fan of the selection but if you need summer shoes and sandals they got some pretty cool ones there. They pretty much got all the sports stuff you need for what ever sport your looking for. The staff is actually cool and friendly. Hit them up if you can't wait for Amazon. They actually got great deals for the off season stuff. Buy your ski and snow boarding stuff in the summer for the killer deals.
