Southern Dunes is a very nice place to stay is not fancy but it looks really good beautiful Golf Course and mostly is composed of old early folks and some people that live they're all year long but mostly is tourist if you're interested from all over the world, you have Walmart within less than a mile you have a gas station you have a dollar store , Tractor Supply KFC, McDonald's in everything less than 1 mile away from Southern Dunes it is not that far from the parks and you probably going to pay a little bit less than if you are closer to the theme parks and traffic on 27 is not very heavy at all, I do want you getting on I-4 east or west it's always busy from 7 a.m. to about 10 a.m. and in the afternoon from 3 to 8 p.m.

One of the nicest golf courses in Florida to go to they have the best greens that I've seen in a long time you guys got to go try it for yourself

Golf course needs a lot of TLC and upkeep great for the money though. Don't expect much from pro shop as it consisted of a table with about 4 boxes of balls and a few gloves

Very clean very quiet. I don't golf, I rented a house which all seem very nice and well kept. The security at the gate were helpful, and everyone was friendly.

Some lovely villas on here, close enough to the theme parks as long as you've got a car. And close to so many fast food chains and decent restaurants, don't let the distance put you off.

Best course in polk county, hands down. Greens here will mystify you. Always in great shape . Staff is great.

Clean, safe community with lots of food nearby. 1 hour from both Orlando and Tampa. A pool for every house.

Stayed in a villa on the course for a family visit to Florida over two weeks - fantastic location and facilities. All the villas look to be well maintained, and the ground staff are constantly tending to the grass/course to ensure everything is presented well. Restaurant also well worth a visit.

The area is very clean, quiet and safe. The staff in the area are quite nice and helpful. Everything you need is right at the walmart which is very close by. This place is perfect for a relaxing time and de-stress but if you are looking for something to do if you are young then everything is quite far and you definitely need a car. Overall the place is great but can get boring.

Just come back to the UK from a 2 week vacation in Orlando. This is the 3rd time we have stopped here in southern dunes and we wouldn't pick anywhere else. Beautiful villa with a beautiful golf course with 24hr security and only 20 mins from Disney.what more could you ask for

We had a villa here for the family - 4 of us in total. Lovely place with everything we needed.
There's a Walmart just outside which is handy.
The Dunes golf course was out of action while we were there for maintenance. To be honest I was happy with that, I don't play golf and it meant there weren't people walking round the course just behind the villa.
It has barriers on the entry / exit with a guard 24 hours. They were always friendly and efficient which was reassuring.response / report this review
