Helpful staff, good book selection, cool events. The only downside to this amazing library is that it is so popular sometimes books take awhile to get on the shelves or, if you have it on hold, awhile to be ready for you.
Love coming here. Great selection and my kids really enjoy the children's area.
Had a few concerns initially, addressed them with the new Library Director in July 2017 and he put an action plan in place to fix them. Highly impressed with the new Director, Michael Hibben. Excited to see the improvements he is putting in place to satisfy the changing needs and maximize the value to local patrons. What a beautiful library!
Great place but 2 of the downstairs librarians are horrid. I would give all Stars but because of those 2 ladies. My teens refuse to check out up front because they treat them very rude. Also, I walked away and heard them make a nasty remark about something that I said. When a book or movie was placed on a shelf without being checked they didn't apologise they were so rude about their mistake. They need help with their attitude and the way they talk down to people!!!
Over the last year we've lived in South County my children and I have gone to this library nearly twice a week. We absolutely love this library and have always had great experiences. It's impeccably maintained and offers amazing selections, a great coffee shop and wonderful staff.
The last two times I've gone I've been treated rudely and with complete lack of compassion by the two older women who staff the main check out.
My most recent visit has lead me to question whether I would return to this library again. I was checking out with a very tired two year old squirming and anxious to hold his new books when I realized I did not have my library card. I've forgotten it before, several times actually, and only with those two women have I ever had any issues. While my son cried and panicked over holding his books I was asked at least 4 questions to verify my identity after handing over drivers listened. I understand that people may use other people's identity to check out books but the absolute rudeness I was met with on the last two occasions had left me feeling as though I was facing the high court. After this, I was scolded as though I were a young child about how I need to get a new card because someone could use my old card I would be responsible. This was all very humiliating and honestly rude.
South County library please consider staffing your main check out with people who actually enjoy your patrons and have compassion. These women reminded me of bitter school teachers who were long overdue to retire.
The library it's self was amazing but the heavier set girl with glasses working in the little coffee shop was rude and slow. She gave me the wrong amount of change back, so I corrected her, and she got an attitude with me. But overall, it's worth going to.
Best library in the area. Staff are helpful, there's a good coffee shop, and it doesn't usually seem that busy. Great place to study.
I routinely have used this library for years and love it. If I have a temporary computer glitch at home, I can always find an open computer upstairs. Also the staff is great.
