A holiday tradition!
2014 Rehearsals begin Tues, Aug 26
at SJ Community Center10778 S Redwood Road
2014 Performance Sat Dec 6 at 2:00 and 7:00
This group of 130 voices and 25 instrumentalists is sponsored by South Jordan City and consists of all volunteer artists from South Jordan and the surrounding areas. Their holiday concerts have been popular holiday traditions for seven years. Its inspiration comes from Marlene Stanley, who came to South Jordan from Houston, Texas, where she directed many church and community choruses. Her groups gathered singers from miles around to provide beautiful Christmas programs to large community audiences. Her love for those years of music inspired her to create a similar program in her new hometown, and with the help of South Jordan City and many friends, the Sounds of the Season was born in 2005. The original 80 voices have grown to 130 singers and 25 instrumentalists giving two South Jordan performances and an additional performance in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. All singers and instrumentalists in South Jordan and the surrounding communities are invited to join the fun of this South Jordan tradition.
