I’ve been at SBC since I was a little kid and I can tell you that there is no place like it. The hand of God is all over that place. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, the “Somerville Family” will love you unconditionally because they have a great God who loves you too. The preaching is powerful, the music is worshipful and glorifying to God, and the people are incredible. If you have not tried out SBC yet, I highly encourage you to do so. You will not regret it.

Very pleasant. I was able to speak to Ms. Kasey in the office as well as Pastor Rickey Clemons. Both made me feel very welcome and I am certain to return for many many years!

This church loves God, it's community and county, and loves the people that make it up! I've not seen a church that does as much as Somerville Baptist does for it's community. Pastor Shane Lewis is an excellent speaker and delivers messages packed full of good truth! You will love this church

The most loving, fun and helpful church. As soon as we went we felt part of their church family. It just felt like we were missing something and we found them. My kids love going to church and so do we. It's a joy being part of such an amazing church.

I love love love this church.the parishioners make you feel welcome inside the church and the pastor and his family are very lovely people any preachers right out of the Bible and he tells it how it is the way that it's taught of the Bible and he does not waver or candy coat or water down the word of God. this church has been a really big blessing in my life I'm so glad that God led me to this church if you are looking for a church home this is a fine place to be the doors are always open Wednesday night Sunday morning and Sunday night they have many different programs going on for you to serve the Lord

I was reading past reviews and had to take exception to a negative comment made about the music and the pastor. My husband is a worship leader at another church. To the best of his ability, he tries to mix the type of music (both contemporary and traditional) and we also sing to "canned music." As such, he also meets with different opinions as to what he "should" be doing in order to make an atmosphere of worship. Did the individual who didn't like the music offer up any solutions to how the music could be "improved?" And as far as the pastor, did this individual privately speak to the pastor expressing their concerns? As church leaders, we strive to serve God to the best of our abilities, but we are only human. Any servant would welcome constructive criticism, but an attack on an entire church is unnecessary. On a personal note, I think very highly of Somerville Baptist Church and many of its members. My daughter attends the Good News Club that is offered after hours (and completely voluntary) at her school. All the GNC workers give of their time to bring the gospel to children who are hungry to hear it. My daughter has also attended a service with her best friend and could not stop talking about how much she enjoyed the pastor's message (yes, a 7 year old child actually LISTENED), the music and the kindness ("everyone was so nice to me Mommy") of so many. I LOVE my home church, which is NOT Somerville Baptist. I just felt compelled to write a review from someone who is not a church member and has no loyalties there, only admiration for a church on fire for Jesus Christ.

Somerville Baptist Church!!! Ah, just saying it brings a smile to my face. It is the place where my family loves to be!!! It is a place where we can go and be accepted for who we are, Sinners Saved By Grace!! The Lord has blessed Somerville Baptist Church with such a wonderful Pastor whose vision is so greatly focused on reaching people outside the church doors and really teaching the ones inside the church doors. Pastor Shane's biblical messages have truly challenged me to be a better christian and have helped pave a good foundation for my children to grow on. There are so many ministries to be involved in for any season of life you are in. Even my children are able to serve in the church and by a part of reaching others for Christ. I am currently going through a discipleship program and am learning more 'in depth' knowledge to growing as a believer. God's spirit is truly present each time we walk in the doors. His infinite love shines through the people, staff and leaders at Somerville Baptist Church. I love being part of a church that loves ALL kinds of people and wants to reach ALL kinds of people and wants to serve ALL kinds of people and accepts ALL kinds of people!!!!! We are not perfect, but it sure is a wonderful place to belong to!!!!! I LOVE MY CHURCH!!!!!!!!!

We were not church goers before visiting this church. While we also visited other churches in our area we just feel like this is where we belong. We felt very welcome from our first visit. I truly enjoy the way Pastor Shane Lewis preaches all of the Bible not just the "feel good" messages. Listening to the choir sing lifts my spirit so much that I asked for a CD to play it in my car as well. Our son goes to the Preschool and he enjoys it so much I have to chase him down to try and get a goodbye kiss in the mornings. If you have ever dropped off a crying child you know what a blessing this is. Several of his teachers, after teaching all day, stay and teach AWANA on Wednesday nights. They truly love our children. If our family misses a service one of our church family members will send us a message letting us know we were missed. They never ask for an accounting of where we were, they just let us know we are loved and cared for. I encourage anyone reading this to find a church where you can fellowship with others and worship the Lord together. I know we would be honored to have you join us. I LOVE MY CHURCH!!!

Words can't express how much my church and church family mean to me! I started visiting this church several years ago through the Somerville Baptist Preschool and Summer Program. I was so impressed with not only the loving nurturing my kids received, but also the Godly examples who were teaching my kids daily. Somerville Baptist has made me and my children feel welcome from day one! As a single mom of two children, sometimes people can be quick to judge your situation. Never,ever have I felt like this here! Nothing but welcome with open arms! From the choir, to Life Groups, to Teens/Kids involvement, to the TRUE preaching of God's WordI LOVE MY CHURCH!! Our pastoral staff truly cares about you and your families! Pastor Lewis brings me to tears almost every Sunday! Sometimes the truth from God's Word is what you need to hear, and I love it!! I joined this church as a full active member in 2013 and it was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made! If you are looking for a church, come visit! God is working in amazing ways at Somerville Baptist!

Love, Love, Love my church family!!!!!!!!!! Can't say enough about how much it has meant to me the way Bro. Shane and Joy have loved me and my kids!! Also, I have a great group of friends who I can count on to pray for me and encourage me through thick and thin!!! It's an awesome place to raise your children because they keep the main thing the main thing which is Jesus!!! Last but not least, Bro. Shane's preaching has always encouraged me to never forget that people need the Lord and wherever I go I can't help but think when I come in contact with people do they know Jesus. Now that's a place to belonga place of hope!!!!!!!!!!!!
