Great food and great staff!!!!
We often have our book club meet here and they always make us a nice big table in a corner so we can yap the night away!
BYO service. They will open bottles bring wine glasses and mixers for the occasional rum!
While probably annoying to them, they don't act annoyed when we order more food after our first round 2 hours later. They usually have wait staff check on us once in a while.response / report this review -

Love the Somerset Diner for a quick bite or a nice sit-down breakfast in the morning. Would give a full 5 stars if it was not for a lot of issues with pickup orders in the last year. In the last year received a lot of wrong orders, a lot of un-buttered toast - the kitchen just seems off with to go orders. This place still gets a 4 star rating because it is kept fairly clean, has a HUGE amount of space to sit so almost always able to get a seat even when at its busiest, and the staff is always super helpful and friendly. Have almost always received food super fast and super delicious when sitting down. On occasion there seems to be some backup in the kitchen which can cause a long wait. However in the many occasions I have frequented this has been few and far between.

It's a quite decent diner with the usual food selection of good quality at good prices. It's usually full during the weekends around lunch and dinner time. The service is quite friendly and quick and don't hesitate to make replacements for meals. It's open 24/7 and is BYOB.

I come here every week, most times after work. The staff is lovely, and the fries are heavenly! Aside from a few dishes I went out of my way to try, I haven't often been disappointed.

If you live in the Somerset area then you most likely have been here before. Food is almost always great no matter what you get. Plus, the place is open 24/7 which is pretty unbeatable for those "long nights". The food is priced pretty well too. The diner is also BYOB

We went there on our first and last day in the USA - the service was very good. The food was great only the fried potatoes were too dry. Prices are good. We will visit you again some day!

Have driven by here a ton of times taking my daughter to basketball practice at Rutgers Prep. Went here with a large group recently after a basketball game and was pleasantly surprised. Despite our size (close to 20) they got us seated quickly but splitting us in two (kids at one table, parents at another). The waitress split every family onto separate checks very efficiently despite the kids being at another table. Diner menu with tons of options. I got a skillet with corned beef hash. Large portion, served hot, and very filling. My daughter had a Belgian waffle which she enjoyed. Food came out very quickly. Very good experience here!

Good food very accommodating! This is our family go to place! Two yrs ago my family with a group of 8 people came to have lunch after our oldest daughter's baby dedication. The food & service was good and price was great! The a few weeks ago our youngest daughter was to be dedicated and so I thought it would be the same size group.however to our delight, the group grew to 22!
I went to the diner and shared my dilemma. The hostess said" sorry we can't reserve tables on weekends!" I started hyperventilating! Then she suggested that I create my own menu and have the entire group come sit/eat at same time and they will accommodate our growing party! So I took a copy of menu home select items I liked, created a menu and bought my group of 30+ with a cake to the diner after the dedication. The rest was history! Always loved diners. Selection of everything you could want. A very large selection menu. Open 24/7 so you can go just for coffee or a full meal at anytime of the day or night.

Somerset Diner is your typical NJ diner. The food is great and inexpensive and there are plenty of options for the hungry patron. There is tons of seating available and I particularly enjoyed the lighting and colors inside. The waitstaff was helpful, friendly, and outgoing and the service was quick. I ended up going with a classic bacon cheeseburger with a side of curly fries. The burger was excellent, cooked perfectly to order and the curly fries were tremendous. My girlfriend and I split a vanilla milkshake for dessert which was also quite good.

I eat here all the time and the service is always nice.
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and in a weak moment i told one of the waitresses that. Now every time I come in she makes sure my drinks and food are healthy for me to eat and if i say i want to cheat she won't let me cause she knows i need that swift kick sometimes.
I NEVER have met a staff that cares that deeply about their customers. They are always friendly, the food is terrific, and the portions are HUGE for a great price.response / report this review -

Depending on when you go service can be hit or miss. Took a large group on the weekend service was super fast. Took a friend for breakfast on a week day service was a little slower and we barely see our waitress. Food has been good everything we have gone.

Just about the best diner I have ever been to. All of the food is great here. Breakfast is available all day. The service is friendly.
Desserts are great. They have some of the best cakes around. The tiramisu is probably the best I have ever tried.response / report this review
