Extremely disappointed in the unprofessionalism of this office to handle appointments. I had a scheduled follow-up appointment for 2 biopsies of my scalp to have stitches removed. My appointment was at 3pm and I sat in the waiting room until 3:45pm before I finally decided to leave. I was upset that the Dr. Would have me waiting that long especially since they have a strict no-show policy and will not hesitate to charge you if youre more than 15 minutes late as well as reschedule you. I drove 30 minutes to and from this appointment where I sat for 45minutes only to not even be seen. Now I have to reschedule and take even more time out of my schedule to come back in which I refuse. My time is just as valuable as the Doctors however, I do not feel as though it was treated as such. No one called me to speak to me about the incident, however, I did receive a text saying they could reschedule the following day (which doesn't work for me). I would like to receive a call from the staff to provide my results rather than making another appointment. I shouldn't have to go further out of my way when I was on time to my appointment and waited 45 minutes only to not even be seen. If there is a 50 dollar charge for no show or late show to a patient that same charge should be honored by the office to the patient who was made to wait on the Dr.
After years of no results, within a month after being seen by Dr. Obayan I’ve seen great improvement! I felt heard and understood. I’d recommend to anyone, especially POC.
Great experience. Comfortable, relaxing, professional atmosphere.Nadia (P.A.) was very observant and shared enlightening information. Well done everyone.
I recently relocated to Austin and have been in need of a dermatologist. I scheduled an appointment with this practice online; I was informed that the doctor wasn’t available on the scheduled time and I’d have to call to reschedule (fine). However, when I call to reschedule an appointment, I’m told it’s not possible without a form a payment on file (yeah, no). They didn’t even bother to verify my benefits or anything and I’d be a NEW patient, absolutely not. This isn’t a dinner reservation and I already provided my medical insurance information, which should have been sufficient enough. I guess I’ll keep shopping around for a dermatologist…don’t trust this one.
My experience from beginning to end was difficult at Skin Joy. They require a credit card up front with a very severe cancellation policy. Which I understand, but adding it on to the rest of my experience made it less understandable. I came in for a general consultation appointment with Dr. Obayan. She rushed through the appointment, used a lot of technical large terms with the lack of patience when I asked to explain what she was talking about. I asked a follow up question on non-medical treatment options and she replied that she could not answer it or it would turn into a cosmetic appointment and I would be billed for it. It was an incredibly general question and would have required a 1 minute response. The appointment was rushed, a medication was recommended with severe side effects that thankfully I later researched on my own before taking. To add on top of that I have been billed twice incorrectly. Once for the entire appointment, and when I called the billing office said it was filed under a personal payment not insurance (gave them all my insurance info). Then the second time I was billed for sunscreen I paid for upon leaving the appointment. They don't have a speak to a receptionist option when calling the office and the billing is done separately so that's been an ordeal fixing the billing. All in all just a difficult patient experience. Would not recommend at all.
