  I attended a viewing recently for a close friend and I could not believe how beautiful and accommodating the funeral home was. The last time I attended a funeral at one of the other funeral homes in town there was no parking, the funeral home was very outdated and the staff was not near as friendly. Everyone in attendance noticed the attention to detail, the comforting environment throughout-especially the hospitality suite downstairs which provided a place for friends and family to relax and regroup during a stressful time. I can not say enough good things about my experience at Simple Alternatives, truly a first rate operation, and it is apparent they take great pride in what they do.

  Simple Alternatives Funeral Home and Crematory in Windber, PA are exceptional in every way and have the finest staff I have ever crossed paths with in my lifetime. My brother David Belic passed away June 13,2020 in Somerset Pennsylvania. I live in FL and from afar it was difficult to make his funeral cremation arrangements. I made many calls to local Funeral Homes in the area and did not feel comfortable with any of them. Thankfully, I found Simple Alternatives. Within hours they had my brother in their care. They communicated via email with all necessary details. I cannot thank them enough for the quality of care extended to my brother David and for giving me rest and peace of mind.

  They helped my mother to make all of her final arrangements well ahead of time so that there wouldn't be a burden on the family. When the time came, she didn't want a service or anyone making a fuss over her, which would have been difficult as there were already COVID-19 restrictions in place. They kept me informed of every step, from cremation and the creation of her obituary to the interment of her ashes. They helped my family get through a difficult time and I highly recommend their services.

  Simple Alternatives made my family's loss an easy process to manage. The staff was very kind and everyone that we experienced was helpful and kept our family's best interest in mind. It was a relief to feel like someone cared and took the time to get to know our family and let us share stories of our loved one to make the experience personal.

  Recently my grandmother passed away in Arizona. We needed to have her brought back to the area for burial and have a service with our family here in Pa. After calling around the staff at Simple Alternatives was exactly what we needed to get through this difficult time. Their caring staff helped me arrange a lovely service. My grandmother was a very faithful person and this unique location was a beautifully renovated church with all the modern upgrades and conveniences one could ask for, especially the multiple TV's where my Gram's pictures were being displayed to soft comforting music. The staff was always present and making sure everyone was taken care of in our family. We couldn't have felt more comforted. Thank you Simple Alternatives!!
