  We had a wedding reception at Terrace on the Green for 360 guests. Our meetings with the owner leading up to the event (over 1 year) were always friendly and helpful. The facility is beautiful and the food was very good and presented nicely. However, some of the promises made during those meetings were not kept at the reception one of which was not being there to greet our guests and the wedding party. An assistant was left in charge with no itinerary which led to chaos for at least 30 minutes. We had to request our deposit after the 90 day waiting period only to find out that all of the deposit was applied to "problems" at the reception which were never discussed with us even after meeting with the owner a few weeks after the reception. In other words, don't expect any of your deposit to be refunded as you will be nickel and dimed to death which we hear is typical for the facility. The owner's friendly attitude disappeared after the event and she became difficult to work with. Due to our experience, we are unable to recommend this facility.

  We just had our daughters wedding reception here and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The venue site is beautiful and lends itself well to any type of decorating. The food was delicious and we had lot's of compliments on it. Jennifer, the owner was great to work with and very accomodating and helpful to me. She is present on-site during the event to make sure everything runs smoothly. We just can not say enough good things about our experience here.

  I held my wedding reception at Terrace on the Green after finding it online and looking at the facility, which is very pretty and in a nice location. Even up to the time of the food tasting I was happy with my choice.
  
  Then about 3 months before my reception, Jennifer decided to change or just simply forget most of the things we had previously talked about. She never returned my calls about the wedding cake she was supposed to make, so one month before the event, I had to go find someone else to make twp cakes. (Luckily the cake turned out wonderful from another vendor)
  
  Every other vendor, from the DJ to the Florist and the Cake Lady were easy and wonderful to work with. I met with them all once and they asked few questions. I spent HOURS on the phone with Jennifer for weeks and weeks, it was a nightmare!
  
  She very much misrepresents herself, telling people she's never had a unsatisfied customer. Well I am very unhappy, and I know there are others!

  I recently attended a wedding reception at this venue. There was not toilet paper in the bathrooms toward the end of the night, the food was not what I expected and the cake cutting was monstrous. The cake was all different flavors in each layer but they only cut one layer at a time instead of separating it so people would have a choice. On top of this, the slices were practically mounds of cake on a plate. I hope the family didn't have to pay a cake cutting fee. I would also like to note that if you look at the name of the person who runs Terrace on the Green and the "Best Venue in Kansas City" review - Jennifer Baber runs the venue and gave herself a glowing review. Another sign this place is not as it represents itself.

  Had a business event there. Food was excellent. Space is very nice. Great view. No problems at all.
