My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary and loved it! Everything we ordered from cocktails to appetizer to entree was amazing! The big wins for us were the stuffed mushrooms and the mac and cheese. Service and ambience were great as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great fine dining experience.

Food and service were incredible as was the ambiance. Took a recent Doctorate to dinner here and they did not disappoint. The garlic mash potatoes are great as was everything else we had. The wait staff worked together as a team and made us feel like we were the only ones in this crowded restaurant. There is a bar as well if you are looking for some adult libation. We will be back.

The BEST restaurant in Lynchburg. I have had the good fortune to live around the world and often dine in the finest restaurants. Shoemakers is fantastic. The food quality is the best available and the kitchen knows exactly what to do with it; the service is fabulous and the kitchen and restrooms always immaculate. No downside.

I took my husband for an early Father's Day dinner last week and the meal was excellent. We started our meal with the scallop appetizer which was delicious. I had the crab stuffed trout and my husband had a blackened rib eye for our entrees. Both meals were outstanding!! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Parking was a bit of a challenge but well worth circling the block a couple of times. We've already decided to return for our next special occasion dinner.

Good food, good service If you are international be sure to take your passport as they don't accept foreign driver's licence as proof of ID which was a bit frustrating

Travelling through Lynchburg and decided to eat here without making a reservation. Restaurant was busy so we sat at the bar. These are the most friendly bar tenders you can find. Bar is well stocked with a variety of spirits. At the bar you can get the restaurant menu so we ordered some appetizers and entrees. Everything was perfect. This is a great place to eat, upscale establishment with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the experienceuntil last night. The server spilled a glass of coke on the table and most of it ended up on my wife's dress (which was new). While the server apologized and the table was cleared and cleaned up, my wife continued the meal with a sticky dress and seat. There was no visit from the manager or an offer of free desert. It was treated as a frequent event so no big deal. We had to return home for my wife to change so we could continue our night out. Accidents happen but the casual way we were treated after this one was disappointing for an upscale restaurant.

If you want to be treated like a million bucks and only wanting to pay around $200 Please make this an experience! We go once a year and have them pick out a bottle of wine and bring a bottle of champagne on the table. Everything is cooked absolutely perfectly and guests are treated like kings, it's definitely one of my favorite places to visit!

This is usually one of my favorite places to eat at, yet today I did not have a positive experience. We called ahead to ask if they were busywe were told they did not have availability for about another hour but since we were only a two person table we could go ahead and come in and they would fit us in. We parked, walked to the restaurant and were then told they did not have room for us. Why? Why Did you just tell us on the phone you would be able to fit a table of two? Why did we walk to come to your restaurant if you really had no space. I found the two ladies upfront not even excited to greet us much less to try and seat us. Normally, I would rate the food here outstanding and customer service but tonight my opinion has changed. Very sad right now that one of my favorite places is not so favorite anymore.
