Room was nice and clean. Check in and check out were easy and fast.
Landed there on Christmas Eve, stayed through Christmas Day and of course it was freezing cold and the people who work those shifts are amazing! The front desk was personable and accommodating. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The bed was amazing. I was able to bring my daughter-in-law, son and two grandkids to the pool where we had it to ourselves and had an excellent time! I highly recommend this facility, have been there before and will return again.
Great sale going on as the liquidation company closes out the building. You can stop by the front area to have a look at the various items for sale on the floors above. Sale runs until they are out of stock.
We had a nice stay at the Hotel. Check out was easy valet parking could not drive a manual transmission which didn't bother us to bad...but when 3 days later we get a charge for $3.18 on our credit card I inquired as to why... I was told we had taken one of the waters that was in the room. I left a msg. that that did not happen. We did see the water clearly marked $3.00 for sure, but did not want or need or take. Beware of these junk charges. I will now have staff at any hotel that has this type of convenience to remove them before I step into the room.
Room was nice and clean. Check in and check out were easy and fast. The bed and pillows were way too soft and had no support, so my back hurt the next day. There also was no refrigerator in the room, which was off. And there was minimal closet space for hanging clothes. Lastly, the parking was fairly expensive ($14 for self park) and not expected for a relatively small city like Iowa City. Other than those things, it was fine and served my purposes well.
I was created by stay for the event and really got a good experience. They were very helpful in punting is in the right direction. Really nice place
Upgraded to club level which was nice. Nice hotel staff and clean rooms. Great stay overall.
Very clean hotel. Would recommend for family or friends visiting the area. It's in a great location for Iowa City!
Very nice hotel in a great location. The rooms are nice, the pool area is awesome for kids. The convention rooms are very nice, and the food and service during the luncheon we attended was superb. Will stay there over and over. Great place!
There was a shooting directly outside our hotel room on hotel property at 130 am, 8/27. We looked on in horror as students and other bar goers ran in every direction, uncertain if this was domestic terrorism or where the assailant was. Turns out it was gang violence and the police apprehended the suspects later that early morning. The hotel offered zero emergency protocol, services or assurances. Not even a simple message to guests the following day. Basically they pretended like nothing happened both during and after the shooting that left two injured and one dead on their own property.
Hotel is very clean and staff was great. Right downtown and in a fantastic location. Recommend checking it out.
This place is great if you like air conditioning that doesn't get cold, constantly saying no to the panhandlers waiting outside and an occasional 2am assault out front. Ask me how I know. There was no mini fridge, no fan in the bathroom, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Also, I don't know if it was this hotel or the state of Iowa itself but Tinder wasn't working all night and it completely ruined my life as I planned my whole week around it.
Staff is great. Food is good. Location is excellent. Building is old a tired. Elevator is slow and jerks with load noises. Phone in room did not work. Rm 400 had a funky lock and very temperamental.
Even though accommodation choices are limited near the University of Iowa Campus. The Sheraton Iowa City did an excellent job on my recent stay. My room was prepaid and they handled all of the logistics to perfection. The room was nice, clean and relaxing. The hotel is located in the downtown district with several food and entertainment choices within walking distance. Campus is also within walking distance.
The hotel was very nice. The parking garage was moderately convenient, except for no indoor connection with the hotel. It was nice to be fronting the pedestrian mall. Multiple rooms in the hotel had temperature problems during my two-day stay. The thermostat is separate from the wall unit but would not raise the temperature above 67 degrees during the day and 64 degrees during early morning hours. Staff promised to send the "engineer" but it never improved. The restaurant opened more than 30 minutes later than posted for breakfast. Really, one expects more. A working heater is a basic requirement for lodging when there is snow on the ground
Went to Share for a work lunch. The food was good. Service seemed a bit slow. Prices were reasonable.
This was a very nice hotel. I stayed overnight to interview at the University of Iowa Hospital, and I used the Sheraton shuttle over to the hospital. It was very convenient. The rooms were very modern and clean, and I was quite impressed. Good place and good value.
Great stay. Clean room and friendly service. Parking was a bit more difficult than I had anticipated, but there is plenty of it in the ramp located just outside the hotel. Otherwise very good
I stayed here the night before an interview, and I had an exceptionally pleasant stay.
Location: just off a slightly busier street, but still pretty quiet. Ear plugs are automatically provided to muffle any residual sounds of normal urban life. The Sheraton was easy to find as well.
Parking: There is a covered structure immediately adjacent to the hotel, and they will validate your ticket so you can easily park free of charge.
Staff: Helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. I had forgotten a few minor items and they happily provided them. They also checked me in and out in a timely manner and relayed information from the program I was interviewing at to me.
Room: Spacious, clean, plenty of amenities. The beds are VERY soft (it actually feels like sleeping on a cloud - the cliche works here), and I slept like a rock the night before something I'm typically nervous for. an exceptionally comfortable night of sleep.
Breakfast: You do need to purchase breakfast in the restaurant connected to the hotel, but it is pretty reasonable for the breakfast buffet.
Overall, I would highly recommend staying here
The Sheraton is the best location for a hotel in downtown Iowa City. It is steps away from the pedestrian mall (walking streets) and close to all of restaurants/bars that downtown has to offer. Crowds are always walking around the area and fall weekends are normally packed with hawkeye football fans. The hotel is clean and accommodating and I've never had issues staying here. A parking garage is walking distance to the hotel and if you leave before 8.00 am you can park for free (hotel will give you a parking sticker as well). Breakfast is attached to the hotel and includes a great selection of options.
