Undesirable university. I attended seton hall for about two years and I could not express how sad I was. The atmosphere here was cliquey. High school all over again. My lowest point was attending this school it truly tore me apart. Professors are not there to teach or help you. The school is commonly on probation for their academic programs. They accept more students into programs when they do not have enough staff. In one of my courses more than half the students failed because the professor was not suppose to teach that course, but there were too many students to fit in the main lecture classroom. After transferring schools, I wasn't the only person who had transferred out! I spoke to students in my classes that said they use to attend seton hall too and I was shocked at first to realize that many people transferred out but it was for a similar reason like me. The food is not great especially with the amount you pay for piratebucks and use of the cafeteria. The food from the cafeteria made me pretty woozy while digesting. The university is in a dangerous area and you get a pirate alert almost every day - gun shot, robbery, etc. Before going to this school please take the location and tuition into consideration. It's dangerous and not worth the money. What are we paying for again? Oh maybe it’s public safety on their electronic scooters.

They have a great sense of community. The school of Diplomacy has the best staff. Shoutout to Dean Sanjamino Ursula.

This is by far the worst experience I've had as a transfer student. I am in my third week of the fall semester classes and I still have not received my leftover funds from my private loan for the purchase of my books. This is my only monetary resource for purchasing my books and necessities for class. I visit the financial aid office more than twice each week to check the status of my loan and get an update as to when/if my loan will be verified. As a result of this I am unable to complete any of my work assignments and I am falling behind in all of my classes because I can't purchase the books and properly prepare myself for each class. I am disappointed with the financial aid department because my issue continues to effect my education and after repeatedly being told my loan would be verified by the end of the week, which was two weeks ago, this still has yet to occur. I have contacted many staff members about my problem including advisors, deans, and the head of my program, but it is very clear that my issue is not taken seriously. Due to me not obtaining the necessary tools I need to be successful and reach my full potential and most importantly spending thousands of dollars for this education and not being treated equal, this will be my first and last year at Seton Hall.

As a student at Seton Hall, what I like the most about the school is that there is something for everyone. Of course the school puts academics first, excelling in multiple fields from business to diplomacy. But if a college student was to consume themselves with only schoolwork, they may lose their mind. That's why I appreciate the fact that Seton Hall offers so much for the students to get involved in so that they can make the most out of their college experience and attain knowledge that just cannot be given in a classroom. There are jobs on campus like Blue Crew and Peer Advisers that allow students to get involved at Seton Hall while representing Seton Hall, really allowing students to feel a part of the community. And with all the social, cultural, religious, and academic organizations on campus, it feels as though everyone is bound to find their place at Seton Hall.

Overall it's a very good university; it's a small and friendly campus, the classes are great, and the business program is top-notch. I've met a ton of friends here through several Business clubs/organizations, the Honors Program, and Cross Country. It's location close to downtown South Orange is also very convenient.

I have had an incredibly positive experience at Seton Hall. The campus is exactly what I was looking for in a college. While in the suburban area of South Orange, which has great restaurants and lots to do, SHU's campus is still gated off as its own area. I also love the proximity of the city. I did not want to go to school in a big city, but being a short train ride into NYC is great and gives you plenty to do if you have a free day. Many students also have internships in the city. The professors I have had have been great and the facilities are also always being renovated and improved for students.

Seton Hall University is a private Roman Catholic university in South Orange, the oldest diocesan university in the USA. Seton Hall University confers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees in around 70 academic fields. The facilities are beautiful and well-equipped with technology.

After completing my undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University I can honestly say that it was not the right choice for me.
School facilities are mediocre, but they are also under heavy renovations as soon as I'm ready to leave the campus. Regardless, the buildings used for PR and journalism majors have gone untouched since the 80's or 90's.
Aside from this, I genuinely felt that the academics were great. I value the education and direction most of my teachers imparted upon me. That's not to say that there weren't plenty of bad eggs in the bunch though, like "Professor" Ann Bollinger.
South Orange is also the opposite of any college town you've ever visited. Most businesses close by 9 or 10 p.m. every night, and many of the bars and restaurants in the community actively discriminate against college students, such as Bunnies and Above.
The town is primarily a family and commuter oriented village, with little to no nightlife available to college students-- especially minors.
Additionally, I never once felt socially accepted at Seton Hall. The student spectrum is strange and disconnected. It goes from dingy, dirt-walled frat parties to Supreme wannabees driving sports cars. No part of the spectrum is desirable to anyone of above average intelligence.
So all in all, if you're a white-collar, money-driven son-of-a-broker who's robotic in their need for social interaction, you've found you place.response / report this review -

I am a Sophomore at Seton Hall University. I am blessed to have chosen Seton Hall to be my core foundation to where many opportunities and much of my academic success would be uprooted from. As a Biology major, I have utilized many of the resources here at Seton Hall that assists me in fulfilling my academic expectations. Along with these outstanding resources are the professors. The professors of Seton Hall express as much of high concerns as many of the students do. I couldn't have chosen another school where I would've felt the same amount of safety, comfortability, and positivism that Seton Hall brings into my life each day. I am more than confident that my long term goal of attending medical school will be achieved. Special thanks to the one and only Seton Hall for being the one to make that possible for me.

A beautiful campus! My daughter is a freshman and it has been nothing short of a positive learning experience. All her professors give excellent feedback and truly show care for the individual student. A perfect fit for her.
