  Watch the rock climbers on a pretty day while having a picnic. It is a beautiful area, WV at its finest.

  Easy access to the trailhead. Uphill almost all the way, but can reach the top in less than an hour. Great view of the town and the mountains from the top. Observation dock is open to the town side. You can go further to the top of the rocks for better views, but very risky in strong wind.

  I rather enjoy this hike. The trail is well-worn and easy to follow. While you gain 900 feet of elevation in the course of 1.5 miles, switchbacks make it easier. Switchbacks also preserve the environment for future generationsso PLEASE remain on the established trail and don't take shortcuts. The negative impact of leaving the trail is evident here.
