Most unprofessional company I've worked with. They ask for your money first with every single situation. They will take your "deposit" and then never communicate back with you for several weeks. They sent someone to my house without telling me ahead of time, and refused to return my deposit to me even though no work was done after I discontinued working with them. These people are glorified con-artists, particularly Julia and Robert.

    DO NOT WORK WITH THEM.

If you are considering using Semper Solaris for your solar panel or backup battery system, don’t; don’t walk away from this company, run. I don’t think I have come across a worst company to work with in my entire life and I am 73 years old. It hurts me to even give them one star. I already have solar panels on my roof and I wanted to get a battery storage system. While sitting down with the sales representative, I made it very clear that I only wanted one Tesla Powerwall, I only wanted enough back up power to power my refrigerator and other essential systems as well as being able to charge my electric car if the grid goes down.
I was told that it would be a few months, two or three, before they could start on the project as they were backed up with work. I agreed to that thinking it was a reasonable amount of time. Little did I know it would take over a year to finish the project from the date I signed the contract. I should have suspected problems when three different people came out three different times to take a picture of my breaker box for their engineering team. I suspected these departments don’t talk to one another, well they don’t.
The circuit breaker suppling power to my car is 50 amps. When the first, yes first, installation team came out to do the work they informed me that they weren’t allowed to back up a 50 amp circuit breaker. This disturbed me as I specially told the sales representative that one of the main reasons for wanting the Powerwall was to be able to charge my car. The installation team tried to talk me into getting a second Powerwall which would have solved the problem; I had told the sales representative I did not want a second one before signing the contract. After discussions with the sales representative over the course of several weeks in which I was given three different reasons why it couldn’t be done, it turned out to not be an issue. All I had to finally do is sign a waiver stating I understood that the Powerwall could not support charging my car. You would think that after taking three different pictures of my breaker box, someone would have noticed this ahead of time. I pointed out that my car normally draws 40 amps when charging but I can dial down the charge rate from within the car if I need to, in other words, I could use the Powerwall to charge my car, all I had to do is dial down the charge rate. To me this clearly indicates they do not fully understand the product they are selling.
I mentioned a first installation team, even without the 50 amp circuit breaker issue I was told the project would take two days including a city inspector to come out to sign off on the project. They weren’t close to finishing the installation after two days and then it turned out they did it wrong. A month or two latter they sent out a second team to redo the work and again I was told it was a two day project which turned out not to be true. When they finally completed the installation and the city inspector came out, it failed four separate items, not to mention the stucco damage done by the first installation team which had yet to be corrected. I have a lot more to say but my character limit was exceeded.

Stay away and use another solar company. Semper Solaris is dishonorable and misrepresents their services. There was so many issues with our installation that I requested a small 5% discount/reduction for all the misrepresentations and inconveniences. They choose to battle me over email and voicemails left at 7AM or on weekends over multiple months. Their communication was horrific. They just ask for money vs. trying to solve a problem or even apologize. They have not agreed to any resolution except to threaten me. They do not care about customer service or satisfaction. There are many solar installation companies, don't use Semper you will be much happier.

    Here are the details.
First they promised to install by the end of Dec, but then delayed until March, then April. We locked in a good week when the kids didn't have school some days. We made our work schedules light because we expected power disruptions and banging on the roof.
The installation took 6 days vs. 2 days promised due to their teams working short hours, 4-5 hours and not having full teams show up together. Even worse it was not 6 consecutive days but spread out over 4 weeks. They had to turn off our power most of those days creating many issues as we worked from home and had kids in school via Zoom.

Additionally, they had told us they could install the equipment on the side of our house, but when they came to install it was physically impossible and thus they had to install on the back of our house, not hidden and creating an eyesore. Had we know this, we would have made a very different decision and not purchased the Powerwall.

See pictures to see the promise vs. reality. Also note how many boxes are needed, I have not seen that at our friend's house who have solar.

Their installers were polite, the problem was always with Headquarters which is likely not local. I strongly recommend avoiding any Semper Solaris franchise because they all connect to the back-end HQ which doesn't care about its customers or local providers.

UPDATE: I got the response that they want to understand the issue and will reach out. I have heard this before many times. I will let people know if they actually follow through.

I had a really great experience with semper
we spoke with a couple companies prior to talking with Semper Solaris. Jessica was so very informative and did not push us at (which I had pushy sales people...so this was important for me). We would recommend them to anyone wanting solar or roof. Thank you jessica for your help.
