Went to the ER last night. So many helpful, friendly, professional people helped me--saved my life, really. Top notch staff all around. The breakfast was actually pretty good, too!

Very unprofessional employees overall, besides that I was in urgent care and asked for water , I didn't receive the water until 2 hours later. The employees were also very rude. I definitely will not be going to that urgent care again.

EXTREMELY unprofessional service from the bottom up. I fractured my foot and was not taken seriously by the front desk since I was able to come in (limping) yet still be able to smile — Heaven forbid! The front desk should probably practice smiling more themselves, along with being professional and displaying good customer service.

While being asked questions about my injury, another staff member persistedly interrupted, both staff placing more emphasis on their (pointless) conversation, rather than me and my needs as a patient.

I was never shown my x-ray which I find to be very strange and once again, unprofessional.

I do not recommend this hospital whatsoever.

This place is dangerous for infant kids! I took my 8 month child to this hospital and was shocked how unprofessional service was. It all started at the check in to emergency room. Nurse who was admitting us was trying to use an adult set of tools to take vital signs. After multiple unsuccessful attempts of measuring pulse and oxygen level with the finger probe she finally gave up and went to ask help. She was trying to put infant fit sensors onto my daughters arm and was doing many other violations of all possible admitting procedures. When we finally got into the room and we`ve been told that Dr. Cox will be taking care of us. After few minutes I was pretty much sure that this doctor has no clue on how to assess infant patients. She was focused on filling out paperwork instead of working with the patient. her supervisor Dr. Davis decided not to spend a single minute with the patient at all - he was on the phone and could not hang up even for a minute. All interventions that were proposed were highly invasive skipping any less invasive assessments completely. Drug dose was calculated inaccurately and without double check. Because of all that I refused any care and took my daughter to the other hospital. Please stay away from this place

If I could I would give 0 stars. I was in the er twice in 3 days and the treatment was horrible. The 1st day I was never given a room I was kept in the hallway. The Dr rushed through talking to me, decided I had sciatica, wrote a Rx for pain & muscle relaxers and sent me home. My pain got worse and ended up back in the er 48 hrs later. Again they tried to put me in the hallway. I complained & then put me in a room. The Dr came in long enough to put me on pain meds and order an MRI. When MRI results came in Dr Norton came in and was very abrupt with her answers and was "too busy " to answer any questions I had. After 2 very poor visits at best I would never go here again even if it was an emergency. Dr Norton specifically should never be allowed to interact with patients. She has obviously forgotten what it's like to be one!

I had an emergency due to lower right quad pain on the the 12th of September. The emergency room got me in quite quickly for how busy they were.
Nurses Liz and Mercedes were so kind and attentive and doctor Brunner was so professional and knowledgeable. Everyone I encountered had the same demeanor of caring and gentle concern.
They quickly found my problem and gave me an IV antibiotic. I thought I had appendicitis but turned out to be a kidney infection.
This is the "go to" hospital if you live or are visiting San Diego and need fast efficient medical care.❤️👍

This is so wonderful hospital I have ever seen. People are so nice and they are so care for patients! My mom was transferred here from a San Diego nursing facility. After Laura, the case manager from ICU, got to know that my mom and all our family is based on San Francisco Bay Area, my daddy had been in hotel for 2 weeks for visiting my Mom daily. She tried her best to arrange my mom back to our home area. So my daddy and our family can visit my mom daily. I couldn't say any better words to thank for her and her team! She and her colleagues completely changed our life. Because we cannot leave my mom in hospital or nursing facility without visiting her often especially she just had stroke for a couple of months and needs our support a lot to get recover. The whole family had been tired of traveling without rest. All our original plan had been changed because of this incident. Now my mom has been moved back near my home for 2 weeks. She is getting improving dramatically. Our life is getting back to normal though we still fight for better. I appreciate so much for their work in Mercy Hospital!!! Another wonderful thing was my mom didn't need additional oxygen any more after the treatment here. She had been used it for almost 2 months. I would highly ranked this hospital the best! The best treatment, the most nice and care team!!!

Yesterday I was at Mercy hospital for physical therapy. We called for shuttle service from the parking lot and to return. A very nice volunteer took us to and from. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name. When we returned to my car, he stopped and asked me a few questions. I turned out that he had found two checkbooks with a good amount of cash on the floor near my car, but he didn't know which car it belonged to. I am so grateful that he is such an honest person and want you to know how lucky you are to have him. It was between 9 and 10 a.m. I am always impressed by all the people who work in all the Scripps facilities. They are always friendly, cheerful and helpful. Thank you!

I dont have an insurance as im temporary here, when i arrived to emergency, i asked about the price. They didnt want to tell anything and obviously they dont care if you are in pain, if its emergency or not. That hospital doesnt seem like they care about patients, its just there for making money, thats it!

My daughter went to the ER at Scripps with dehydration from a stomach virus. I live out of the area, so when I called to inquire as to how my daughter was doing, I spoke to Liz (a nurse) who put me at ease and calmed my fears. She seemed very caring and I appreciated her taking the time to talk to me.

Just had my baby last Wednesday there. Staff is amazing, they are super nice, attentive, caring and sweet. I highly recommend the maternity level floor... You might want something more fancy, but remember at the end what matters is the staff. And they didn't disappoint me. 😊

Emergency room intake person sent my husband across street to UCSD emergency room. They told him he was drunk. In fact, he was in agonizing pain and had no alcoholic beverages. He had a life threatening condition and needed immediate surgery. He went outside and passed out from the pain. I complained to the patient advocate and they told me they would send my complaint to the Emergency room supervisor so she could call me and hear the details. She never called. This happened August 18, 2016 and my husband spent last three months in the hospital after this incident. He is lucky to be alive.

I just had a baby boy here and it was enjoyable!! Who knew labor could be fun?!! Clean, beautiful staff and nurses. The cafeteria is not that bad (just bring salt and pepper lol). I tried to do a natural birth and they supported my decision even when I was a jerk! At 8cm I finally got an epidural because it hurt really bad and I am happy with my decision! Just overall a great place!
