Cafeteria style. Food was really good staff friendly. It is 5 or 6 miles from the highway but well worth it.

Went through Eckerty with family and stopped to eat here. The food was awesome! Delicious home cooked food and reasonable prices. We live about an hour away but love to stop in here when we go through. Have brought family and friends here. They love it! I highly recommend this place, It's definitely worth stopping in if your driving by!

First time to visit, excellent food, two prices for plate lunches, one for single helping, choice of one meat, two sides, drink and dessert extra. The second price is for all you can eat. Don't recall actual individual prices.

We took some time for us today. We are at Schwartz Family Restaurant, it was wonderful. GREAT FOOD!! I am a rather picky person about food. The girls working were helpful and polite. That's a rarity these days, very refreshing. I'm glad there is a great place to eat closer to home!

Stopped for breakfast never even got acknowledged when I told the manager she said they were doing the best they could do. If that is the best you can do you shouldn't be in business

Not sure why people are giving this restaurant 4 stars; if I could give it less than 1 star, I would. We went there for dinner. This is a cafeteria. The food all looked and tasted like frozen, warmed over food. The worst meal we have ever had. My husband had Salisbury steak, at least that's what they called it and I had chicken tenders. We each had two sides and drinks. Our bill was over $22. Don't waste your time or money going here. They advertise they are an Amish LIKE restaurant. They are not even close to being Amish-like.

VERY SLOW and UNAPOLOGETIC. We had five people for a late breakfast (it was Sunday so some would even call it brunch). We arrived at 10:15 and were told "It's still breakfast so it will be about 45 minutes, or you can wait for the lunch buffet at 11:00." I guess we just didn't believe them or thought we misunderstood so we ordered breakfast. Nothing fancy eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes and toast. And then we sat and sat and sat. 30 minutes later we found our waitress and asked her about our order. She said "Yep, we're working on it". At 11:00 on the nose the buffet was loaded with pies and fried chicken and veggies, still nothing for us. Our order came out at 11:15 - a full hour wait for something Waffle House could have knocked out in less than 10 minutes. How was it? Average, they were fine eggs and bacon, but everyone in my party was so upset it wouldn't have mattered. I went to find the manager to see how this could happen. I asked why it took an hour for our breakfast to come out. He said "Well that happens when we get real busy like this." So I clarified "You mean this was just due to backup? This is your normal service?" He said, "Yes, you should really try to plan for it." I was floored. There were less than 30 people in the restaurant when we arrived. I know this restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, but the place was less than half full. Since we had never been there and were on vacation in the area, we had no way to "plan for it". I paid my $51 bill and left with my wife so upset she was in tears. So in summary: 1) SLOW and they don't care 2) Food was average at best 3) Overpriced 4) They stole an hour of my life. Drive to French Lick or back to a Waffle House on the interstate and you will be much happier. Consider yourself warned.

I always enjoy eating here. So much food at such a great price. You won't find homemade cooking like this at any fast food restaurant.

Wonderful friendly family owned. Joe the owner was out baling hay right before coming in and (after making his rounds warmly greeting and hugging all the regular local patrons and even spending time with me a salesman) joining in on his fiddle with a group of over a dozen other musician friends picking and singing folk songs in the back dining area. You've never seen any place like this!

Absolutely amazing. Haven't had a thing here I didn't love! The food is incredibly good and the prices are quite reasonable. There's a great playground outside for the kids before/after eating to burn off the energy. The staff is EXACTLY what you would expect from a country restaurant, outstanding! Very helpful and friendly!

We freguent French lick 5 to 6 times a year, first time stopping at Schwartz's. Food was good however the service was very poor for a Sunday morning with hardly anyone in the restaurant. Plenty of staff but staff consisted of teenage wait staff that were more interested in socializing and their cell phone then getting things that we asked for. Asked for water twice, waitress would leave our table stop and chit chat, check her phoneno water. Overall place was disappointing no matter how good food tasted and we will not go back. I can't imagine what it would be like on a busy day.

we stopped here after visiting french lick the food was awesome and the service was great would recommend to anyone. very nice playground for kids to play on too. will definitely visit again !!! :)
