Super good food and service
By far the best restaurant on the Main Line! Customer service, presentation and atmosphere is unbeatable. I would highly recommend for dining and also events. They have a beautiful private wine cellar that is amazing. Plus their wine list has everything you could ever want! Can't wait to go back!
Atmosphere was just ok. I've been before but very long ago However the food was terrific and the service was great too! I'll b back The bar looks very cool
My wife and I went here for dinner after recently moving to Wayne. We were excited to try Savona because we go out to eat a lot and it's only a few minutes from our home. After dinner I received the check I noticed the prices were different than the prices on the menu. I also didn't receive a restaurant copy on the receipt which odd. I didn't want to say anything in front of my wife so I called to speak with a manager next day. I didn't really care about the 10 or so dollars it was just the principal and just thought he might like to know. The manager basically laughed it off and rudely offered to refund me the difference acting like I was being ridiculous. We lived in the city for 6 years and went out to eat around 3 nights a week and had never encountered anything like this. The place seems very unprofessional. We were sadly disappointed. Try 333 Belrose down the road!
Amazing meal completed by an incredible banana soufflé finished with a chocolate peanut butter sauce!!
Just went there for our anniversary dinner. Food was cooked perfectly! Service was great. We were seated right away. Decor is really nice too. Valet parking was nice too. No complaints. We will definitely be back.
great food and wine but my skinny marguerita was made with sugar, my half eaten veal chop entree($50) was asked to be boxed to take home and was completely overlooked and finally the hostess called earlier in the day for confirmation and I specifically asked that bread be on table upon arrival(key to the surprise) and no bread was there! Their attention to details was overlooked. Expensive, delicious food should always be accompanied by exceptional service.
Worst restaurant experience ever.
Clueless maitre di/general manager originally put our table of 4 which drove 40 minutes to get there in the bar facing the kitchen. After saying it was unacceptable he moved us into the dining room. After sitting for 10 minutes he had the audacity to ask us to move because a table of "investors"that had been sitting in the bar WANTED OUR TABLE! We were then moved to a table facing the busing station. Horrible. Been going there for 20 years. $28.00 glass of champagne which they never tell you the price. So overpriced and food so mediocre. Never again.
Chef Andrew does an amazing job! Everyone is very attentive and friendly.
Another casualty of the casual dining movement afflicting the industry - blamed on the Great Recession. What was once one of the last, well-executed fine-dining experiences on the Main Line, has now thrown its hat in with the loud, boorish, unimaginative, and inelegant likes of Estia and White Dog.
Despite our hostess' best efforts, service was a mess, and the food unevenly prepared. The beet salad could have easily been prepared from a can, and the frito misto was fine until the last bite delivered enough salt to clear the icy streets of Philadelphia. Our hostess moved us from the main dining room after noting our discomfort being seated near three tables of hedge fund managers screaming about their latest conquests, but the once lovely separate window-seating is now a cold, lonely place to be ignored by a bumbling wait staff in bad suits.
The redesign of Savona's interior with grey paint and upholstery on the mid-century seating accompanied by butcher block tables (yikes) has resulted in the feel of dining at Panera Bread. I'm not sure who's brilliant idea it was (I can guess, chef) to open up the ugly kitchen for all passers by (but not seated patrons) to see, but it was stunningly short sighted considering the condition of the kitchen, its staff, the 86 board, and the lackluster meals.
Here's a tip for waitstaff: when a customer asks for the wine/drink list, it behooves you (and your restaurant) to return and to take the drink order - especially when most glasses of wine cost as much as your pasta plates. (Oh yeah, all wine is by the glass sigh. I miss the well-trained sommelier they'd had before)
Tip to the kitchen staff: tortelloni gets very sad when it cools to room temperature in a bowl of flavorless broth before being carried to the diner.
Final note to waitstaff: if you say you're going to remove something from the bill because the diner could not eat it (canned beets), the diner shouldn't have to remind you.
I've been meaning to go here for years, and finally got around to it. The food and drinks were quite excellent and they were happy to point out a great value bottle of wine. When it came, the sommelier tasted it, took it back, and opened another bottle, because she thought it was bad. Great service. Food was good, especially the wood fired pizza. Quite excellent.
Great atmosphere. Beet salad was fresh. Ossu Bucco was a little light on the serving size. Chardonnay was perfect and priced well. Redone building looks great.
Recently reopened after renovation and looks great! Love the bar which fortunately didn't change, but now we can see the staff working hard to create fabulous dishes! New menu looks appetizing and cocktails are shaken and well chilled!
