Great place to visit. Wish we would have had more time! Definitely going back. Will definitely be looking into camping options!
Our Girl Scout troop spent a day at Sauder Village and everyone had a great time. Between the knowledgeable and polite docents, the live animals and the tasty food - a great time was had by all and we're looking forward to a return trip to .
What a blast we had at the village today!! Very educational and delightful! It made me want to learn how to make a broom and churn butter. My son decided he would like to learn to make a wooden bucket - become a Cooper. What a fanatic idea!! Sauder is really figuring out how to help people enjoy their history lessons!
Visited Sauder Village in May with my son and his class. They all had a great time while learning about the past as well. The train and blacksmith where both favorites with my small group.
Loved the historical village and presentations for each of the places in the village. The presenters were knowledgeable and passionate about their specific area. Enjoyed watching the glass making workshop and the blacksmith, they are truly skilled artists. Great place for families, especially for younger children to learn about Ohio history. Also if visiting I highly recommend stopping by the cafe inside the village, loved the service and the chocolate was delicious.
Was here in grade school 30 plus years ago, and its even better. From cider making to glass blowing artwork, kids will learn how it was done back in the day. Great place to make a family memory.
This is a very popular attraction that centers around the way of life around 100 or so years ago. Lots of old building from that period have been relocated here and they are staffed with people knowledgeable on their purpose (woodshop, tinsmith, blacksmith, freight depo, general store, basket maker, barrel maker. etc.). It's a great way to spend the day, but the price of admission is a little steep at $17.00/person. Still worth it for the occasional visit. Great staff and an abundance of historical pieces and special events keep this on our list of places to visit around once a year. Enjoy!
Spent the day here with my 4 yr old grandson. We really enjoyed the horse and buggy ride and the train ride. Don't miss the little homesteaders area it's amazing. Be warned, the little ones won't want to leave. Thanks for a fun time.
I've been going to Sauder Village every year or so since I was a kid. It's a great example of living history presented without bias.
I do miss the full museum tour and the gunsmith, but, for whatever reason, the blacksmith, wood shop, glass shop, etc. are all just as entertaining for me as an adult as they were as a kid.
Awesome small vacation, if you enjoy learning about the past, I highly recommend it. Try to get a combo offer from their site, well worth it if you like to save money.
Loved going to Sauder Village as a kid and now I take my kid there. Similar to Greenfield Village at the Henry Ford.
Had an amazing Mother's Day visit today! This place is great!
Great place to bring the family. You will definitely learn something. Very cool to watch the many crafters and to see the many old buildings. Like stepping into a time machine.
Very nice place. Feels like a living museum. Each place has someone their to explain the historic significance. Horse and buggy ride was fun. Train was mostly fun but we were right below a speaker and it was loud enough that I had a headache from it by the time it was over. Very laid back place to spend a day.
