My friend bought me some pizza from here and it is just as amazing as everyone else says! 100% worth going over and over again!
Ordered from Santillo Pizzeria based on the many positive reviews. We've tried many other Pizzerias in the area, this was our first here. My family will support local businesses if the food AND service is good. We tried the Sicilian Style, the pizza was ok. However the sauce didn't have much flavor we asked for extra cheese but sure didn't seem like it. The crust tasted good it was crispy and we'll done. We're undecided if we will visit again. Important to us is good service AND good food.
I have to tell you the truth this pizza is amazing. I've been wanting to order a pizza from this place since I read about it online. Me being born and raise in Elizabeth,NJ have seen this place as I drove passed 1&9 but never ate it. So I ordered the pizza over the phone, and the man seem not too friendly at first but I said ok never the less I want to try this pizza. I asked my husband to pick it up, so much to my surprise and my husband this place is a cash only establishment, thankfully he had cash on him. He told me the man who was probably the owner once I showed him the picture of the owners online he confirmed that was him, was very rude and threw the monies on the counter at my husband. My husband felt like he was racist. The man apparently seemed to be upset when my husband didn't know it was a cash only establishement as per what this "man" told him, my husband feels like this man may have thought my husband was joking when he was trying to pay with his debit card. Even after that, we ate that pizza and it was delicious and by far the best pizza I have eaten in a long time unfortunately due to the treatment my husband received I would not purchase nor recommend this establishment. I'm sure my husband hasn't been the first African American that has been at this place, the 100 years in service should have taught you that customer service is key now that's old school and maybe it was just a bad day we all have them but yes the pizza is awesome but humility will go far. Be thankful you have had the love and support of faithful old customers and do try to remember that you want to draw new customers to continue in the legacy that was bestowed upon you. Don't forget where you came from.
After not having Santillo's in years, I knew when I was coming to E-Town for the day I needed to make a stop there before heading downtown. I remembered that Santillo's was one of Jersey's best pizzerias from my previous experiences, but this time I was reminded that this is the best Sicilian pie I've ever had! Order an extra large Sicilian. Get the full effects of simple yet delicious cheese and sauce over perfectly crisp edges and a cracker crunch of crust. When the owner asks you if you want the Sicilian made well-done, all I can tell you is that sounds like sexy pillow talk.
Was on my way home from Pa and always wanted to try Santillos Pizza. Quick trip off the NJ Turnpike. I grew up in Elizabeth but moved out as a young kid and never ate their pie. My wife and I ordered a 12 inch thin crust and a Sicilian pie. Ate the thin crust in the car back on the Turnpike. This was without a doubt the best pizza I have ever eaten in NJ or NYC. No completion on this at all. Loved reminiscing with the owner about the good old days in Elizabeth. Wish I lived closer in NJ.
