Has sand but needs to be maintained better by state.

Kids enjoyed the water. But there was trash all over the beach. No trash cans or bathrooms near by. Would be nice if it was cleaned up. The view of the water was nice

If you want to get away to a quiet place. Sandy beach is wonderful place to just kick your heels up and relax. Not a whole lot of young people camp here. Very friendly host. And the beach is exactly what it says Sandy Beach. Boat dock. At the beach area too. Go check it out.

The beach here is very rocky and dirty. I would not recommend taking off your shoes nor getting in the water here. Head over to Sugar Bottom Beach instead (about 20 min drive).

So murky. This was our first and only time here, so maybe the water isn't this dirty every year. I understand we can't be took picky in IA when it comes to lakes, but this was disgusting.
