  Bonham Academy celebrated a "Fenomenal Friday," giving students on- and off-campus experiences before spring break - from microscopic discoveries to yoga, and from field photography at Woodlawn Lake to basketball skills at Trinity University.

  Bonham Academy celebró el “Viernes Fenomenal” al proporcionar a los estudiantes experiencias dentro y fuera de la escuela antes de las vacaciones de primavera, desde descubrimientos microscópicos a la yoga, y desde la fotografía en Woodlawn Lake a las habilidades de baloncesto en Trinity University.

  Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service helped third graders at Foster Academy implement the Learn Grow Eat Go! program yesterday. When children plant their own gardens they tend to increase their vegetable consumption. The 10-week program includes building a garden, planting vegetables and herbs, taste testing raw vegetables, and incorporating their harvest into recipes.

  Ayer, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service ayudó a estudiantes de tercer grado en Foster Academy a implementar el programa Learn Grow Eat Go! Cuando los niños plantan sus propias huertas, tienden a aumentar su consumo de vegetales. El programa de 10 semanas incluye construir la huerta, sembrar vegetales y hierbas, probar vegetales crudos e incorporar su cosecha en recetas.

  An AirLife crew landed its chopper at Edison High School yesterday and spoke to students in the Health Professions and Fire Science programs. AirLife crew members spoke about their education and how they used standard paramedic and nursing skills to get into a flight medical field. Students in the Fire Science program learned about become fire certified, and how fire and EMS responders work together for better patient care.

  Una tripulación de AirLife aterrizó su helicóptero e...n Edison High School ayer y habló con los estudiantes en los programas de Profesiones de Salud y de Ciencia de Prevención de Incendios. Los miembros de la tripulación de AirLife hablaron sobre su educación y cómo utilizan destrezas básicas paramédicas y de enfermería para entrar al sector de medicina aérea. Los estudiantes en el programa de Ciencia de Prevención de Incendios aprendieron sobre cómo certificarse en prevención de incendios, y cómo los bomberos y primeros intervinientes trabajan en unión para mejorar la atención médica.

  Congratulations to Lily Campbell, a choir student at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy. The high school junior represented San Antonio ISD by advancing to the Texas Music Educators Association state convention recently. She was named one of the Top 7 sopranos in Texas. She performed at the big event and was “first chair” for her section. Lily’s high school choir teacher is Ms. Jennifer Holloway.

La alumna de tercer año de preparatoria representó a San Antonio ISD al avanzar recientemente a la convención estatal de Texas Music Educators Association. Fue nombrada una de las 7 Mejores Sopranos en Texas. Ella cantó en el gran evento y tuvo la posición principal en su sección. La maestra de coro de preparatoria de Lily es la Sra. Jennifer Holloway.

  Issaiah Wallace, a defensive tackle at Brackenridge HS, signed a letter of intent today to play college football at Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton. The 6-foot-3-inch and 250 pound athlete was a team captain for the Eagles in 2018 and he helped his team advance to the UIL state playoffs. He was a three-year letterman for Brack. Wallace boasts a 3.89 GPA in his high school studies and received a full ride to Mary Hardin-Baylor.

  KINDER CORNER The Advanced Learning Academy at Euclid offers unique Wonder Courses that even the littlest learners can choose from and participate in. Kindergarteners joined their 1st - 3rd grade peers in a coding Wonder Course where they learned to write Ozo-code that directed paths for mini robots called Ozobots. Wonder Courses that students can also opt for include Ocean Animals, Puzzles and Mazes, Bridges and Travel, Zines Writing, or Space and Spanish.

  Careers of the Future: Approximately 150 juniors and seniors at Highlands High School had the opportunity today to visit with local business leaders within STEM industries. Students learned about careers in IT, cybersecurity, computer programming, energy and sustainability, and engineering.

  Middle school students at Ogden Academy are in the process of creating a mural for the District to be installed at Burnet Learning Center later this spring. Students are standing in front of a completed mural, which was created for and is hanging at their school. The District mural will be on this same scale, and the concept is centered around a large, long-standing tree located at Ogden, which over the generations has become a special and meaningful meeting spot for students.... Watch for the completed mural at Burnet soon!

  Los estudiantes de secundaria en Ogden Academy están en proceso de crear un mural para que el distrito instale en el Burnet Learning Center esta primavera. Los estudiantes están parados frente a un mural completado que se creó para su escuela y está exhibido allí. El mural del distrito será de la misma escala y el concepto está centrado en un árbol grande de mucha antigüedad ubicado en Ogden, el cual, con el paso de las generaciones se ha convertido en un lugar significativo y especial para los alumnos. ¡Espere ver el mural completado en Burnet próximamente!

  Last Friday, students from Hawthorne Academy were visited by author and astrophysicist Dr. Jeffery Bennett. The goal of the visit was to help shine a light on literacy and STEM education.
