Closed now because the owner has since passed away but maybe but next year it will be up and running. Lots of memories here. It is a great inexpensive room for a night at the beach!
Looks deserted and abandoned
This has been closed for over a year
This was a great cheap place to stay, walking distance from the beach and by walking distance, I mean like 300/400 yards :D awesome!
"SHOCK"
Luckily we asked to see the room before deciding to stay. First off, you had to drive through what looked to be a trailer park and the Motel was behind that. The door handle to the room was very loose. Once inside the room, we knew right away this was not for us. The room was very dirty and the stench was awful. There was an ac unit in the window. The adjoining door to the room next door had a busted off lock. The bedspread had cigarette burns in it. Walked in the bathroom and found a cigarette burn in one of the towels and a very dirty bathroom. The furniture was in terrible shape. I would not recommend this place to no one. We went on down the road and got a room at the "Villas of Hatteras Landing". Of course we paid more for the room (170.00), whereas Salvo Inn was renting their rooms for $90.00, but it was well worth the extra money not to stay at that place.
DO NOT RENT HERE
When we arrived it was pouring down rain and the light was on at the office but no one was there and the door was locked. After 30 minutes, we had to call the number for the motel and the woman asked us if we could go find something else to do because she did not want to come out in the rain to give us our key, that the owner would be back sometime in the next 30 minutes. Please keep in mind that there is nothing to do without driving at least 20 minutes and it was pouring down rain so going on the beach was not an option. Poor service.
We rented our room and the room was very small, containing two double beds, one night stand (no phone or alarm clock), one chair that looked like it was picked up off the side of the street, and a mini fridge sitting on top of a night stand with a microwave and coffee maker on top of the fridge, and a trash can. There was no where to eat and no where to put your bags, we were climbing over top of our clothing bags and beach chairs the whole time.
The room smelled, although it had been raining heavily and beach rooms tend to stink in the rain. We bought 3 gel air fresheners and some deodorizing spray and a scented plug in to mask the smell (it helped).
The bathtub would not drain and you were standing in a bathtub full of dirty, sandy water by the time you were done showering. The shower curtain was slightly moldy. There was no toilet paper, we had to go buy our own.
The small window air conditioner was not sealed off from the elements completely. I killed almost 19 mosquitoes on the second night in a 30 minute period.
The mattresses were uncomfortable, you could feel the springs in the mattress.
The motel was located about 500 feet away from the beach, a rather long walk if you are carrying chairs, a cooler, a beach bag, and an umbrella
The man who serviced the rooms daily was very polite and really the only positive part of our stay. We left after two nights, even though we paid for three. We would have preferred sleeping in the car.
