Description

Salvatore’s “trattoria” has been a staple in the downtown Muscatine area since 1985, when Reno Vitale moved here from Palermo, Sicily, the original home of pizza and pasta. In Italy, the word “trattoria” means a small, informal restaurant, often off the beaten path on a small block or street. Here at Salvatore’s, we try to capture the mood, flavor and taste of the famous Italian trattorias. Come into our locally owned and operated restaurant tonight for a slice of real Italian flavor right here in Iowa.

"Fresco" means "fresh" in Italian - an important word to know in a restaurant! Try using it in a sentence, like: Salvatores is always cooked fresco for you!

Muscatine may not be famous for its seafood, but our lobster ravioli is a delicious exception! Have you tried it?

When you need a hearty meal, Reno’s Famous Ribeye is the way to go! Enjoy spaghetti and a salad alongside approximately 18 ounces of Black Angus ribeye, marinated to perfection and olive oil and garlic, then grilled to rare, medium, or well done. How do you take yours?

Try our pescatore bruschette to start your next meal with something different! We top lightly-toasted Italian bread slices with homemade Alfredo sauce, shrimp, crab, and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.

The Italian Poor Boy is great for lunch or dinner, with freshly sliced pit ham, mayo, pepperoni, lettuce, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese, toasted Panini style and served up hot and fresh!
