You need to be in the know because its entrance is located in the basement of a nondescript Midtown office building, past the security desk and through a pristine white lobby.

Onigiri covered in mackerel is gross! Don't get it. Chicken meatball and organic chicken + sea salt + yuzu citrus is good... All and all... Kinda meh

This charming izakaya is hidden in the basement of an office building. Dinner is great, order anything! And save room for black sesame creme brulee.

Amazing sake selection and the authentic food is great for a quick, casual lunch. We recommend the onsen tomago, sakagura special, and black sesame ice cream.

After walking into this basement eatery one Louis Vuitton Friend of the House swears she’s in Japan. She loves the sake selection. Find out who at the LV Amble site.

No cellphone signal or WiFi in there. It's a dead zone.

Try one of the daily lunch specials, which are made in limited quantities of 30 orders or less. Diners with room for dessert may want black sesame crème brulee or coffee Jell-O.

A taste of Tokyo is hidden in the basement of a Midtown East office building -- your friends will be impressed you found this place. Go for lunch and sake -- their platters are a multi-course steal.
