“My hope is to create spaces where people of all stripes can come together and speak at a lower decibel level, we make more sense that way. We sound more like our real selves that way. We are struggling to understand each other, and that’s work we need to settle into for the long haul. We all belong in the mess here together, and we can determine whether and how it gets sorted out.” - Tracy K. Smith

“If you can make a choice to skip using a plastic straw, why not? And if you can make this one choice, maybe you can do even more," President Cervelli remarked when we decided to go strawless last January.
We're glad to see Starbucks and other organizations making changes to protect our environment.

We'd like to offer a prayer to our immigrant brothers and sisters. 💙
Compassionate God, Your son, Jesus, as an infant, fled to Egypt with his mother Mary and Joseph. They were a vulnerable family, crossing into a foreign land, looking for shelter and sustenance.... In this holy family we see the image of so many of our sisters and brothers who are crossing into foreign lands with their children. We see the same vulnerability, hope and fear in their faces and stories that your son and his parents experienced. Help us to welcome as Christ and his family those who cross our borders today. Give us hearts of compassion, and give us what we need to respond as sisters and brothers to all who are vulnerable. Guide us in upholding the dignity of all people and protecting their lives from injustice. We pray this through Jesus, your son and our brother.
Amen.
