Very well kept and beautiful displays thru out the long halls. Beautiful flower gardens to look thru the long clean windows. Glass doors to go out and sit near the gardens.

MAPT '99

SMWC provided an outstanding educational experience which opened the door for many internship and job opportunities both during and after college. The Woods helped shape me into the woman I am today and I made lifelong friends along the way. There simply isn't a better option when considering private schools in the Midwest. Both my mother and I are legacies of the Woods and I can only hope to send my future children here one day.

Saint Mary of the Woods College is a really good college. I have been attending this school for a couple years now through their online program. I feel that there is a lack of a connection between the students who attend school online and those that attend on campus. The online students, like myself, are not always included with the activities and events held on campus. There is very little communication from the school, advisors, and staff to the online students. I felt, at times, that I never knew what I needed to do next or what courses to change. It was as if I was doing things on my own and only received direction when paperwork needed to be done. I understand that we are adults and we can handle ourselves, but it would be nice to have some guidance and some sort of feedback. It may be different for other students but these were things I experienced.

SMWC is a place where you become part of something bigger than yourself - where you can learn and grow, find your future and aspire higher. I love this campus with all of its historic architecture. There is a great story to tell about Saint Mary-of-the-Woods!

I love to come here for brunch with family. It's beautiful - so be sure to take a walk around the grounds and check out the cemetery.

I can't imagine myself anywhere else. The professors genuinely care about who you are as a person and you aren't just a number with ANYONE on campus. The education department places you in the field (and prepares you) much earlier than most colleges (I've learned this from talking to multiple ED majors from other institutions) to which is a huge advantage. Here I've gained and honed more leadership skills than I thought imaginable. Mother Theodore started an amazing legacy 175 years ago when she landed here and I can't wait to see what the future holds for SMWC.

Not great. Perhaps this is because the Woods Online program hasn't figured out how to properly implement distance learning. Maybe on campus programs are better. I felt like I was given As too easily from most instructors, and they were not even really interested in teaching. I felt like I was 100% on my own reading the text and doing the coursework only to have an unknown entity grade it and return it (and sometimes it took weeks to get feedback on an assignment you need in order to fully move to the next). Only when I had classes with the department head and one other instructor did I feel like I was getting genuine feedback. Poor communication in general. I don't know if I would pursue my education here if I could go back in time. I don't necessarily regret it, but hindsight is 20/20.
