Description

The SAINT LOUIS CRISIS NURSERY (SLCN) is an independent, not-for-profit agency funded by donations and committed to preventing child abuse and neglect by providing short-term, emergency shelter for children, birth through age 12, whose families are faced with emergencies or who are in crisis.

Founded in 1986, the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery has become a cornerstone in the fight against child abuse and neglect. In addition to the direct care of the children, the Crisis Nursery gives ongoing support and follow-up care to families and serves as a child/family advocate within the social services system.

Thank you, Bridgeton Target for your very generous donation of car seats, pack n’ plays, diapers and wipes! Your support will help many area families. Thanks you to Mercy Hospital South volunteers for helping transport. We couldn’t have done it without you! #community

What a great weekend at the Crisis Nursery!!

A group from Cor Jesu Academy St. Louis stopped by-- they made 20 blankets for our babies, made our kids’ beds, and cleaned our kids’ rooms. So great to have help!

Junior Girl Scout Troop 353 brought their Bronze Award Project to the Wentzville and St. Charles Nurseries. They created “Sensory Stations” which contain lava bottles, touch and feel books, and blocks. The kiddos got to try them out, and the girls were awesome!

    ...

ProCamps invited some of the families from out Latino Outreach Program to the "Teammates Youth Baseball Camp with Larry Walker"

We can not say enough great things about this AMAZING group of students! Fort Zumwalt South Side Servers have been a strong support to the Nursery for about 5 years now. They volunteer in the Nursery, make our family community parties possible, greeted guests at events, held donation drives and consistently made craft kits for our kids. They recently hosted a trivia night and donated $1500 to the Nursery! They are such a wonderful, kind, thoughtful, intelligent group of teenagers with an absolutely bright future ahead of them. GO BULLDOGS!

Happy International Women's Day to all remarkable women everywhere!

We admire you, respect you, and appreciate all you do every day ❤️❤️️️❤️️

March is International Women's Month and next week the Crisis Nursery will share the stories of several women who have been with the Crisis Nursery for decades. They established the foundation of the Crisis Nursery, and continue to help guide and support the Nursery on a regular basis.
