The first time I visited SAS fabric was shortly after I moved to Arizona and I have yet to find a comparable fabric store with such a wide variety of options. I've been to many a big box stores from Joann Fabrics, Michael's and even Hobby Lobby and while those are great for other crafts, if you need fabric, go to SAS. Staff was pretty knowledgeable and at least able to point me in the right fabric section. Prices were good and they had a variety of accessories to go along with the fabric. Huge bonus? They've been around since the 60s and I'm a sucker for near historical places since Phoenix is just barely 100 years old!

This is a great place if you know what you want what you're doing what you're looking for, the only thing I would say is definitely do not expect a lot of insight or that from the employees.

Love it for the price and variety. Hate it for the location and annoying minimums that impacts ability to only get material needed. Wait times to have fabrics cut go up and down throughout the day.

Ill still keep going back whenever I need fabrics, fasteners, or adornments.

This place is amazing they have so much to choose from and the staff are very friendly. I feel welcomed when i come through the door. And the fabrics are labeled nicely so finding what your looking for is easy. The people here are friendly and you cant beat the deals. I could be here for hours and know that i could get everything im looking for. I would come here again and i do recommend it.

I love SAS. They have some amazing fabric choicessome maybe overpriced, but the selection is pretty good and the best Phoenix has for specialty fabrics.

Great selection. Be prepared to dig and move bolts around to get to all the fabric. Great selection of lace and ribbon. Could just wonder for hours.

I keep coming back to this place expecting it to have somehow magically transformed into anything other than an overpriced, hole-in-the-wall full of mostly terrible textiles. On the one rare occasion that I found something worth while, I paid two-times the price I would expect to pay anywhere else. Maybe living in Los Angeles has spoiled me, but I expect more out of my neighborhood fabric store than SAS has to offer. The real kicker is the horrible service--the people who work here are consistent terrors--mean, unreasonable, and unhelpful. Sorry SAS, but frankly, I would rather shop at Joann's (and that's saying something).
