Russell Roofing was incredibly professional, friendly, and responsive. Even from the first time talking with them on the phone, I could tell they really care about their clients. Wyatt came to my house to give me an estimate on a reroof - he was punctual, respectful of my home, and very friendly. I would recommend them to anyone!
Russell replaced my entire roof about 6 years ago and sold me a "lifetime" warranty that was supposed to cover manufacturer defects and workmanship. When the job was done (which was a nightmare that lasted far longer than it should have) the warranty company told me that the warranty was not valid due to the type of roof I have. Russell told me that they would give me an equivalent warranty but it would be only 40 years and not lifetime. A few shingles have fallen off recently, so I called to get them to do the repairs. The salesman came out and told me the repairs are not covered by the warranty. However, as a "favor" since I live on a busy road they will do the repairs in exchange for leaving their lawn sign on my property for an extended period of time. I don't want to advertise their company as I have been cheated by them, so I had another contractor come to do the work. He told me that Russell had used the wrong number of nails per shingle and that is why they are falling off. I would NEVER use Russell again. Their workmanship is not good, they lied about the warranty and to top it off their estimate was $5000 higher than the other company I was going to use. I only used Russell because of their warranty, which I never received. Bad business practices.
Quality work by quality people. We have used Russell Roofing for various projects. They are trustworthy, efficient and timely. We would have no hesitation recommending them.
This is the second time I’ve used Russell Roofing. I needed a full roof replacement following storm damage. Their estimate was not the lowest, but they do quality work which they stand behind, they are local and they very professional to work with. My job was done sooner than originally expected. They did the entire job in one (long) day. Bill, the project manager came the next day to do a “walk through” with me. He inspected the work to make sure I was satisfied. He answered my questions. He also made sure my property was clean and returned to its pre-project state. Only then did he collect the final payment. That is the mark of a company that prides itself on quality workmanship and customer service! I definitely recommend Russell Roofing for your roofing needs!!!
At the end of the day or in our case the project, our house looks amazing. The actual crew and the project manager, Bill did an outstanding job. Very thorough, detailed and responsive.
Leading up to Russell Roofing actually installing our siding, windows and gutters I would make sure EVERY detail is ironed out. The homeowner shouldn’t have to worry since about this but Russell roofing as the pros should be going over every detail. This is where my wife and I thought the ball was dropped. Our project contract was signed in august of 2021 and wasn’t started until April 2022…no worries here but it was pushed back 2-3 times. Some of those missed details were:
1.) The very first day the window contractor came out to install(subcontracted by Russell) and he told Russell roofing he needed $5,000 more to complete the job the right way. This should have been settled at the time of the estimate, 8 months prior.
2.) power line coming onto house was supposed to be moved. Russell roofing said I was supposed to call, no one ever told us. I had to worry about this detail
while on vacation
3.) Siding was going in and was never told the “rake”(corner of roof line) and trim at the roofline were not getting replaced. It looked horrible and my wife and I figured this was a part of of the siding job, nope. It would cost extra.
4.)windows got replaced but 6-7 windows had trim inside that wasn’t finished(painted). Apparently this wasn’t a part of the job and would be a “favor”
for Russell roofing to come back out to finish which they did(thanks) but this should have been told to us that we would need to get a painter.
5.) I told Russell roofing 3-4 times that there was 2 layers of siding(one metal and one wood) on certain parts of the house and the time of the estimate. I even peeled back to show them
and they saw it. I showed them exactly what parts of the house had two layers and they still tried to charge an extra dump fee once the job was going. I get it if it wasn’t known but it was. Also the crew was loading all the metal siding in their van(not the dumpster provided), I found out later they were cashing in on recycling the metal siding. I honestly don’t care that they do this but don’t try to charge me for extra dump fees.
There were quite a few more of these things similar to above. At the end of the day, they did a great job but just make sure EVERY detail is discussed. Russell roofing should be making sure no detail is missed and in our case this led to some frustrations.
