The staff is friendly and when someone was paged they came in a reasonable amount of time. We asked for something to clean with and an employee said she would come and clean and she did.

Rolling Hills has experienced leaders, and it shows. The staff are kind, caring, and happy. The building has a spacious design and a beautiful view. I would live here!!

People that work at this facility are nothing but amazing. I also want to point out that every where in health care is short staffed right now. It’s uncommon for a facility to be fully staffed or over staffed because nobody wants to work. And that goes for other jobs as well. But when I tell you that all staff here bends backwards for their residents their family members, I mean it. They work so hard. The management, nursing staff, dietary, housekeeping, and physical therapy all put nothing but love into their job! I have so many people tell me how happy they were that their parent/grandparent was at rolling hills. The bonds that you form with the residents is amazing. They feel like family. I would recommend this facility, they are phenomenal. As a health care worker to another, thank you. Thank you for everything, the hard work. You’re all amazing!

My mother was brought to this facility after leaving Spearfish hospital with pneumonia. Before she left the hospital, a doctor who was seeing her in the hospital, made an appointment with my mothers medical doctor. She was told it was important to have a follow up with with her regular doctor. She went into Rolling Hills assuming that she could see her own doctor when she wanted to. The home took it upon themselves to cancel her doctors appointment without consulting my mother or any of her family. The staff lied to us several times. They intimidated my mother after we confronted them about the cancelled appointment. We made another appointment which she was able to go to because my sister took her. She had another appointment scheduled and when she got back to the home she shared the doctor results with Rolling Hills. They again cancelled her appointment and each time they tried to tell us it was due to Medicaid payments. We had been consulting with Medicaid through all of this and found out the people at the home were lying to us about Medicaid trying to scare us that the bill wouldn’t be paid unless we did exactly what they wanted. My mother was in there 20 days and their doctor came to visit my mother one time and was only in her room briefly trying to insinuate that my mother was on oxygen because she had smoked. My mother informed her she had never smoked a day in her life. The doctor wouldn’t believe her. The staff would take my mother to the bathroom and leave her for 30 minutes without checking on her. My mother finally got herself back into her wheelchair alone. I would highly recommend going anywhere else!! These people are not concerned about anyone but their own pocket book!! Shame on them!!

I do not recommend this facility. My 90 year old grandma wasn’t cared for well here. The staff (Tina) bullied my grandma, ignored the power of attorney, changed doctor appointments (which is illegal). But the worst thing was the nurses (not understaffed to mention) would leave my elder grandma on the toilet for 20-30 minutes. Unfortunately my grandma was too weak to pull herself up to the walker. My grandma was at Rolling Hills to get treatment and rehab for ammonia. Luckily with the help of my grandmas regular doctors office the family was able to bring her home and get her in home care. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY. South Dakota state health has been informed and are working on the case.
