Description
The Rocky Mountain Chapter of AAZK was formed in 1984 by zookeepers at Denver Zoo. Through the years the chapter has grown in size and influence. Our flagship fundraiser every year is Comedy Night, hosted annually in the summer. Other fundraisers include Bowling for Rhinos, an ornament sale, bake sales, and more. A large portion of the proceeds from various fundraisers go to deserving local and international conservation organizations chosen by our members. Our chapter also hosts social events for members, participates in tree-planting and other community events, and celebrates National Zookeeper Appreciation Week each year in July. Each year Keeper Travel Grants are awarded to applicants for travel to conferences, workshops, conservation projects and other professional development activities.
