  Housekeeper Manpreet Mallhi is a star who "adds some happiness to the patient." She was congratulated by leadership and co-workers on July 25. Ms. Mallhi (third from right) was acknowledged by a patient for her positive attitude.

  Here is what the patient wrote: "Manpreet is an employee who takes her job seriously. She always enters the room with a smile and makes small conversation, which helps me to forget about my problems. She appears to be happy with her job and strives to add some happiness to the patient. I look forward to seeing her bright smile every day."

Today's topic was food and RWJ Rahway Dietitian Christina Frescki showed how to balance the foods you love to help control blood sugar. This free program, held at The Gateway Family YMCA - Rahway Branch is through a grant from Merck. The next series of six classes begins Tuesday, October 1 at noon. Lunch is included.

  The NJ Sharing Network Flag flies alongside the American flag at RWJ Rahway to signify that organ donation has taken place at the hospital.

  Family and friends of the donor had signed the flag and wrote personal messages.
