We love the Riviera and look forward to continued renovations and improvements. The complex has needed some love and is finally getting it. We would like to see new mattresses tho, the current ones are pretty rough.

I've been going there for 30+ years and well all good memories will be coming to an end. The new owners/caretakers are the rudest people you'll ever meet. That tops it aside from the grounds have more weeds than grass. The redone pool is the worst cement job ever seen. Someone had no idea what they were doing. Its a pool but please don't go with bare feet. I'm just going to stop right here even though there's a list. PLEASE get new people for the front desk and send these others back to their trailer park.

My family and I have been going to The Rivera for years, and it's very disappointing how it's getting maintained.
Ever since the new owners took over, it's been getting worse and worse, and it's extremely sad. Yes they made some improvements with new flooring but it's still a very sad place to stay at.
The reasons why? We had weeds growing everywhere in front of our room, no coffee pot, never received fresh towels, no ice, the office is closed early, the beds are horrible, the toilet was broke, and the staff is rude.

We stayed there for 3 nights recently, and there was nobody there. I remember in the past, the place was filled with people, and kids playing, now it's a ghost town. It honestly feels like the new owners wants the place to close down so they don't have to deal with it anymore.
Until they can make tremendous improvements to their rooms and landscape, have staff there that are friendly and make you feel welcomed, we're not going back there again, which is very disheartening to say considering I been going to this resort since I was a little kid.

My family and I have been staying here for over 30 years. Unfortunately this place is going downhill. They are currently remodeling. Staff is friendly but not very helpful. No toilet paper, no fresh towels, no pool, blinds are all broken, they didn't even tell us that they offer discounts tickets for the park (which cost 40 bucks now!) No utensils for grilling. Very unpleasant experience. Saddened to say we are no longer going to stay here. 😔

We were shocked to arrive in June to the hotel having just been sold. We kept that in mind. But, I have to agree, the housekeeping staff was rude, the manager did nothing but throw her employees under the bus. It was never her fault, always someone elses. We never had clean linens unless we asked and it always took hours to get. Also, the manager just kept saying its new owners, it hard to get things done....well it would be so much easier if you didn't spend hours at the picnic table smoking or at the front steps smoking. We stayed for a week and there were litteraly 5 other people that stayed thru out....you cannot tell me you were swamped. Wont go back!

    UPDATED:
We asked if the pool was swimmable when we showed up because of the shape and cloudiness of the pool. We asked 1 time. Yes I understand their is jets on the back wall those jets don't push it across the entire pool thus why you spread it out and he may work his butt off but not to clean that pool algae still sat on the bottom and bottom sides of the wall as he "scrubbed" it. And the fact that we paid for the rooms I assumed that getting the linen changed daily was in the price of the room we had 4 rooms for 3 days and NOT ONCE did we get them changed nor did we get more towels. It shouldn't be the people who pay to stays responsibility to remind the manager that her staff didn't clean our rooms once. But yet the manager could go outside and smoke and shoot baskets? How is that being responsible this is an update so people understand it's NOT PEOPLE WHO STAYED HERE COMPLAINING but an extreme lack of neglect on the manager to tell her employees to get things done around the place that people PAY to stay I mean how can you turn the keys over to people to go in a room with broken AC and not tell them about it? Or have mold in the fridge people are suppose to put food in? Or have not have the rooms cleaned and say here's 6 towels good luck for the next 3 days we already Have your money we don't care. I've stayed here since the 90s and even last year when the old owners were their and I can tell and promise you the basic things were always done. I have pictures of how the pool looks from last year to this year. Rooms were cleaned daily the bushes and plants and property were taken care of and trash wasn't laying around. So even if they did leave it in "bad shape" it still looked nice and was clean to the people paying their hard earned money for. So when your replying to comments make sure you don't leave things out and just talk about the pool there was so many other things wrong then just the pool. And don't say people not getting their way? YOUR THE MANAGER PEOPLE ARE PAYING TO STAY THEIR! Don't blame this on renovating and other things this was basic things that should be taken care of that's MOLD that's NOT CLEANING. So excuse me if this is a rant but people that are paying to stay anywhere not just here have standards and those standards shouldn't be brushed aside with excuses hopefully this place does return to its old days because it was a wonderful place but until then maybe do the basics and not bash the people trying to go on vacation.

If you want to stay at a hostel but pay hotel price and not have a hostel experience because nobody stays here this place is up your alley...Also if you want your room cleaned or to have some clean towels just wait till 11am we are still waiting on the 3rd day at 11am just not sure when their coming. Also the manager kept relocating a family room to room where they just smoked weed all night. Pool looked so bad we went swimming in the lake instead. Manager and staff couldn't manage a bowl of jello do yourself a favor do not stay here new indian owners also took down the American flag that alone should tell you to stay away... Or maybe the toilets that look like their stained with crap will or the mold in the fridge or the pool boy who dumps 2 bottles of chlorine in the same spot and "acts like he's cleaning with brush" a picture covered up what looks like a body imprint was thrown against the wall. Let's just say without the old owners I wouldn't step foot near this dead plant, non caring, dump again

We have stayed at this hotel lots in the past to recently my family booked a room and put a $50 deposit down.

After we booked we heard that they had issues with mold, bugs, and the pool. I was not going to stay in a room with my infant if they had mold.

We called to cancel and they still charged us our $50 deposit. They tried to make us pay for a full night stay. The old owners were very nice and never would have done this. Never coming back.

My family and I go every year for Fathers Day Weekend. We had reservation, which were reconfirmed in April. When we arrived there were new owners with no record of our reservation or deposit.! We lost out on our money! we are all extremely upset! Anyway, We tired to stay at this place still but when we went to go look at the room it was dirty and had no toilet water. Also the pool water is green and dirty! We ran out of there as fast as possible! The manager there is extremely rude and do not waste even a penny on this place! We went alittle up the road and stayed at Bay Pointe Resort and it's much better! The new Riviera doesn't even deserve one star that's how horrible it is.
