Beautiful place, awesome staff, great location. Look forward every year to camping here... Some updating needed in the pool area, ie...new furniture and more tables with umbrella holes would be nice. As a melanoma survivor shade is important and the summer people tend to grab tables and group together first thing on a weekend... 5 or 6 umbrella tables are just not enough for 2 pools...

We stayed at Riverside for just over 2 months last winter. The prices are a little high but they don't meter electric for longer stays like most do (edit: Encore just bought Riverside so that may change), just set your trash bags at the curb each morning and they pick it up, free poop bags and containers throughout the park for your pets, pu, refill, and return propane tanks to your site at very reasonable prices, and a lot more to try and make your stay pleasurable. We stayed in the older side of the park that has a lot more tree cover, which we prefer, but we also had no problems finding a place for our DirecTV dish to get a clear sightline. Sites in the newer side of the park are pricier still, but come with cable tv/internet and are much larger, large grassy areas surrounding the site as well as numerous ponds with fountains. The downside to those is that they are in full sun and tend to be much more windy. All sites are close to, if not level and drain well during rains. Streets are all paved and more than wide enough for even the largest of RV's to maneuver into and out of the park. Facilities are numerous, clean, and we did not run into one grumpy soul. Wifi in the park was sketchy at best and because we were in the older side of the park, we only had access to a DSL connection from Centurynet. Although a bit pricey because we were month to month, it was a quality 10 MB connection that had no problems streaming Netflix, playing the XBox, or anything else we needed it to do and we were able to save our mobile data for other things. They also had local seafood and vegetable vendors there once a week. Although the park is in a country setting, there is a super Walmart and numerous other stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc. just 4 miles down the road around the I-75 interchange and a bit further down the road is the city of Port Charlotte where just about anything you require is easily acquired. There is even a vet hospital barely a mile away for your furry companions. We have Verizon and 4G cell service throughout the park was great. It also appears that T Mobile has a tower close by but can't speak to the quality of service. We loved it so much, we already have our reservation in for this winter for 3+ months this time around. During the prime winter months (Nov-April) the park does tend to cater to the snowbirds and many are yearly returnees that have been coming there for years and years. During this time as well, they don't allow tent camping and tend to give preference to longer staying guests over those that just want a few days/weeks but there always seems to be a few sites open at one time or another for those just passing thru. If during your stay, you become bored, it is your own fault! Can't wait to get back there!
