If you want a church that feels like home, ROL is where you want to be. I didn't grow up in church and didn't come to the lord until my mid 20's. I remember after my first service at ROL I introduced myself to pastor Chris. A few weeks later I came back and Mrs. Shirley greeted me, hugged me like she's known be for years and said I'm glad you came back and pastor Chris remembered my name. Out of the hundreds of people they see, the fact that they remembered who I was, well it made a huge impression on me. I knew that day that this was the place for me. I've never met such a friendly and encouraging group of people. Ive been attending ROL on and off for many years now and since then became a first time mom of a 2 1/2 yr old daughter that does not go to daycare and isn't comfortable with others that she doesn't see daily. So I didn't know what to expect when trying the church nursery for the first time. She either was going to scream the whole way in or surprise me and not even know I was gone. I talked with several ladies that work the childrens ministry and explained my concerns. All were very supportive and reassuring. They explained the process in which they handle the little ones with separation anxieties. My daughter ended up being the child that cried hysterically (we would pull into the parking lot and she'd start the tears) and they would paige me to come get her about 10 minutes into each service. Each time I'd go to get her they'd tell me "keep tryingshe'll get there" and give me an update on if she was progressing at all. It took about 3-4 weeks, but she did it. I sat there at a Sunday service, glancing at the pager board every few minutes waiting for my number to appear but it never did. We've been successful each time since then. We have a day here or there that its a little tougher to get her to go in but lets face it, its her just being a 2 yr old, but now I hear her ask to go to church several times a week. I know that its difficult not being able to go in the nursery to help your child feel comfortable, however, I completely understand the security reasons and feel that we should be so lucky to have a ministry that takes our childrens well being so seriously. I feel that ROL is a wonderful place to bring up your child and when I hear that someone is looking for a new church I don't hesitate to tell them about how awesome ROL is!

My life and the life of my family has been completely transformed through the power of Jesus and the ministry at River of Life Church in Jacksonville, NC! The people are so kind, and the pastors are true ministers of the gospel, preaching directly from the Bible. This church has a “come as you are” atmosphere and welcomes everyone with no judgement. From the kids’ ministry to the life groups to the AMAZING women’s ministry, River of Life is where it’s at! I am so very thankful for the incredible teaching and love I have found here!

I have to say, at first I was sketchy of such a large church with everything that is going on in the world.. but the moment I walked in, I coincidently walked up to a female security member (name started with a M?) and she spoke to me as if she’s family and made sure I was comfortable and felt welcome. First impressions do matter, and thanks to Maggie (Megan, maria something with an M) I have been coming for 4 months now and can not stop telling people about how it’s not only a safe place but an awesome church. The female speaker delivered a divine word, and the ushers were very helpful.. parking lot team helped prevent me backing in to someone else (lol). This place is the blessed house of the Lord! Can’t wait to experience Easter with you!

This church literally saved my life. At a point where I was seriously considering suicide, hated Christians, hated God, I found myself at River of Life for an Easter egg hunt. From the second I stepped through the doors, I knew I needed to be there as much as possible. Everyone was so welcoming, nice, non-judgmental. The small groups and childrens ministry are amazing-the leadership at this church have a heart for God and love people no matter where you're coming from, what you've done-you are welcome at ROLC.

My wife and I were looking for a new church for us and our 15 month old daughter. We came with my wife's parents but we're immediately separated when the ushers chose seats for us. We made the best of it and tried to enjoy praise and worship, but that was interrupted when I decided to put my daughter on my shoulders. An usher came up to me and requested I take her down with no explanation as to why. Finally, once preaching began, my wife wished to take our daughter back to their nursery, but the staff refused to allow my wife to see the facility and nursing staff to see if she would be comfortable letting our daughter in. Nothing about this church was inviting or welcoming for first time visitors with children. I would not recommend it.

I can feel the presence of God in this church. Strong anointing. What can you ask more for. The pastor and wife are outstanding and role models for how Jesus followers should be. Music is modern, full of dynamic and they create a good atmosphere to worship. I also noticed a balanced mix between different races and different cultures which is great. Love this church!

I grew up in a Roman Catholic household. I was saved and baptized in a Baptist church. I have been through 2 church break ups. And I thank God that He sent River of Life Church outreach team to come and fetch me and bring me back into His arms. Pastor Chris, Pastor Miriam and our associated Pastors preach the true living word of God. So if you are not saved or are saved and are looking for a church home, come visit River of Life Church. I tell people River of Life Church is ‘The Place to Be.” Why, because River of Life Church is one step closer to Heaven. I Love my church home River of Life because at River of Life there is no rigmarole goings on.

I have attended this church 4 or 5 times over the last 2 months (I attend church every Sunday but am still looking for a home church) and they incecently talk about their need for more money for their new building, yet there are plenty of empty seats at every service I've been to. I do prefer more traditional music, but am not opposed to live music on a screen, however it is clear that the songs are not for anyone but the musicians jumping around on stage. All the audience can do is clap, as the screen is not always accurate and the songs seem to be pretty obscure; it would be nice to be able to make a joyful noise too. I grew up in a hymm church and I listen to Christian radio all day and I am lucky if I recognize 1 of the 4 or 5 songs that are played. The preaching is good, maybe very good at times, but they seem to have a different Pastor speaking every Sunday as if they are trying to ensure every group is represented behind the pulpit. One pastor delivering 90 percent of the messages seems more like a shepard.

Such an amazing feeling , I was at home , you can feel the love and the sincerity. I seek the Lord God with all my heart and i feel right at home , even when I hadn't been in a while they were loving and caring and genuinely teach the bible. Thank u ROLC cindym & family

I love River Of Life Church! Pastor Chris and The First Lady is amazing.. God truly is using both of them to do his work..You couldn't ask for a better pastor.. When I was sick and needed prayer and words of encouragement Pastor Chris and his wife called and check up on me.. Also, River of Life members checked up on you, prayed with me, cook, sent beautiful flowers, etc.. I can truly say River Of Life showed me what love and compassion is.. I have never had a church to treat me with so much love and care.. River of Life is a blessing to many and our community.. I Love Pastor Chris, First Lady and the church members of River of life Lord, please continue to bless River of Life and your people..

Such an awesome church! Extremely welcoming and always greeted with a smiling face! My family loves this church! My one year old gets so excited to go to church! My husband and I love the pastoral staff and all the truth that is spoken here! I love the diversity of this church! We are very sad to say goodbye because of change of duty station. If we could, we'd move the church with us!
