We first we're invited here for a funeral lunch. The food, though limited choices was really good. We wanted to return and last night we took a friend to celebrate a birthday. I had Chilean sea bass, my wife had shrimp with limp crab and our guest had veal marsala. We started with a table portion of fried zucchani, then Ceaser salad finally the main course. Everything was delicious, service was excellent and the dining room was quiet and comfortable.

The most disrespectful staff and owner.
My great uncle WAS a long time customer. David, the owner, embarrassed my uncle & the bartender publically. He thought someone brought a homemade bottle of wine into the bar. In the end, David embarrassed himself more than anyone.
They contest negative reviews. Make sure your google review is visible publically and not just personally.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary today at Rico's. We visited with Rico reminiscing how 25 years ago we were his first wedding reception in his restaurant. Rico and Vince remembered that our wedding cake had been sliced in a circle so everyone could take a piece home to freeze and eat a year later. Vince and I took home the top layer with our Precious Moments Bride and Groom on top that we enjoyed on our 1st wedding anniversary-August 8, 1993.

They lucky they are just getting one star. I called to inquire about there establishment for a birthday I wanted to have there. Whoever answered the phone started screaming at me and being very disrespectful. I could get if reception was bad but being rude to a first time
Client wanting to spend a lot of money there is unacceptable and take my money somewhere else. If this is how they treat people over the phone dare how they will treat you eating at the actual place. I won't ever take my money here and advise no one else either!

I have been going to Rico's since it opened in 1979. It is the very best restaurant in Pittsburgh and I have been to many. It has more than survived the test of time and outlasted others such as Tambellini's, Scrogo's, The Colony, Primadonna and Georgetown Inn to name a few. I find it amazing people have complaints about the food and sevice as it has always been first class. If you enjoy a truly fine dining experience you will never be disappointed at Rico's.

When I read through the negative reviews of Rico's on google, I get the sense that folks don't have the right expectations when approaching this restaurant. This is not a brand new ultra-modern tapas bar in Lawrenceville. Rico's is a tribute to the past in a beautiful way. The bartenders make simple and delicious classic cocktails like an old fashioned or a dirty martini. The food is hearty, relentlessly tasty and comfortable. But most importantly is the atmosphere. This is a beautiful, warm and quiet restaurant where you can really connect with your friends and family while sharing food and a bottle of wine (without the noise and chaos of a trendy restaurant downtown). Rico's is a perfect 5-star experience because it delivers on its promise: excellent food, service and value in a great atmosphere.

Worked as a busboy 25 years ago and still make it back at least once a year for a great dinner. Service, wine and food is absolutely incredible!!! Lisa was awesome & performed flawless! Wine glasses never go empty! Rico's son David is ready to take over! Great place to feel alive!
